Late Subs

He really isn't, mate. He's a certain type of player, and Moyes with all his intense scouting procedures would have known exactly what kind of player he was before signing him.

So really Moyes is either at fault for not giving Bily his chance if he's worthy of it or he's at fault for buying him (£9 mil remember) in the first place. Both avenues confuse the heck out of me.

you beat me to it... ditto ...what he says. :)

OP said the late subs has been a problem this season, but i actually think he's been better about it most of the time. i remember getting really frustrated about it in the past, but generally this season i think he's given players a bit more time.

today was just shocking tho, no excuse

well with subs like that moyes is only asking for questioning from fans and trouble from players.

i generally feel sorry for bily and he has to get a lot of credit for not spitting his dummy out and refusing to play.

bily isnt unhappy , isnt injured , isnt tired and from what i have heard is a good lad in training and off the pitch , so why does moyes treat him like a retard by bringing him on for a minute here and there ? its like a sympathy sub.

explain yourself moyes !!!
THIS!

Bilay won't get a game unless Piennar, Osman, Arteta and Rodwell are injured. He really is a model pro for not going public about his disappointment of not being able to get a game. For the record I think he would work superb in the Cahill-role even with Cahill in front of him.

LOL

Im a fan of his, im just on a mickey take. But Moyes doesnt like him...he's like 5th down the pecking order of midfielders

Stupid, stupid subs. I came as close as i've ever come to getting genuinly angry at the football. You know it's bad when that happens.

id go further than that... if all of cahill arteta fellaini pienaar neville osman heitinga and coleman get injured then bily might be in with a shout :)

I can't believe no one is mentioning the truly amazing part of the late subs - the fact that ARTETA stayed on the pitch until the 93rd minute. Even the announcers thought that he was coming off for Yakubu at the 60th minute. Was Moyes just using this game as a fitness test for the spaniard? I seriously just don't get it. Yak for Arteta at the 60th minute could have been huge (Rodwell was pushing up nicely and while imperfect, was trying to insert himself in the game).

And yes, I agree with everyone else, if you're going to put on other subs and try to change the course of the game, put on 1 or 2 between the 45-70th minute. If you really want to push after that, use the last after the 80th minute. Remember the old days when Big Vic was our super-sub in the uefa cup games? Moyes never made those subs at the 93rd minute, he brought vic on because he was tryingto change the game. I just don't understand what he was doing today...

If we as fans notice this and get pissed off with it surely the players do as well?

Obviously there's just getting on with whatever job the manager asks of you but i don't think its unrealistic to think that some players won't be happy to see other players never being dropped and poor subs not helping us win games.

Then people wonder why some players want to leave.

All might be good but if the fanbase is divided then why not the players......................

Good point.

Plus, with Moyes being Moyes, they know they can't complain or criticise him. They'll just get benched. That must make it even more frustrating. At least us fans have places like this to vent!

You can just imagine training when Moyes nips to the bogs (and Round follows him).

Defo a "Moyles out" and a "Moyes is god" split in the squad i reckon.

You also make a good point my friend. I for one would like to take this moment to formally invite any and all sr level (or reserve) players or staff to join the conversation here on GOT. We would be more than welcome to engage them in conversation, venting, encouragement and consolation.

How great would that be...
