Last Season! Help me to understand what happened?

Agree with all of the sentiment mate, but this is why GOT should have a character lim
Do you struggle with a short attention span? Do you have a condition where it's difficult for you to concentrate for the required time required? I took the time to write a short piece on an Everton forum on my thoughts about something that still bothers me. I like writing. It soothes me. Isn't that the function of a forum, to offer one's opinion? Not sure why you needed to be sarcastic mate x
Yes mate.

This, and he was probably blagged a bit in terms of what capacity we had to spend.

But either way, any manager we have... if Real Madrid come calling then we're losing them.

Didn't help he had a clause allowing him to leave which could have discouraged Real Madrid from paying but free agent Ancelotti had all the cards when we were negotiating to bring him in.

I understand, and I did not know about the clause. However, it just seemed like this was a great way to cement his legacy. Everyone knows it's easier to win things at bigger clubs! Far better to take a sleeping giant and make them great again. Imagine him taking a strong Everton team into the new stadium? His legacy would be complete. I read that his salary is less than ours at Real and that he left on bad terms on the previous occasion he managed there. I've also read they are having financial issues as well. I don't know if any of this is true but he would never have been sacked at Everton.

Ultimately, I reckon he had no idea the size of the task at hand with Everton. Outsiders from the league and the club (like Carlo was) probably would've thought 'yeah Everton look a decent team who are a sleeping giant, I can get them going', but throughout his time obviously started to realise we're a bit of a mess (thanks to Koeman and co.). I reckon he just couldn't really be arsed with it and when Madrid came calling, it was the easy way out.
Such a betrayal if true.

I'm still convinced that he went into the meeting with moshiri and brands down in London with no intention of leaving and had his list of transfer targets for this season. They admitted to him it won't happen because we can't spend anything and he's walked out, phoned his agent and said "get me out of here".
If this is the case, I can understand and forgive up to a point. If he was misled about ffp rules etc. Interesting idea though and one that gives me comfort.

Lazy, entitled crabs. Well done sir. An excellent succint summary of he who cant be mentioned. Whose absence from all four line-up's this season has palpably improved the forward momentum of the side.
Aided in no small part by a manager whose body language indicates he gives a $hit.
Do you think Carlo looked down on us a bit?

He was out of his depth. We are not a top team that he usually goes to therefore the players are mainly sub standard to what he is used to. Feel over many years he only had to tweak teams whereas we need a build. The old adage of you can't polish a turd comes to mind. With the team he had a balance could not be found between defence and attack. Don't know how he would have coped with no budget this season........probably would have gone through the motions. Real Madrid saved his standing but the blessing in disguise is Real Madrid could have saved us

Carlo exists on his reputation alone nowadays.
That famous pic of him sipping coffee while Bernie scored was actually true.
He can now afford to be lazy.

Same reason he was bombed out of Napoli, his days of coaching and building are long behind him. His rep was of being an ‘ego manager’ ie with a team of super talented players he can get them playing well and winning things (or more realistically continue to win things) unfortunately for us it turned out to be true.
I will be the first to admit I was sucked in by his rep, but evidence of his actually management ability in any team outside of the top echelon is there for all to see.
Flattered to deceive.
