Last Film You Watched

Just watched some film called Buried. Not good for my anxiety, some fella trapped alive in a box, buried trying to get out, was ok like although it had a few flaws in it .

Finally got round to watching this the other night and found it a bit disappointing tbh.

True story about American Olympian, Louis Zamperini who is drafted as bomber in the American Air Force during WW2. His plane ditches in the Pacific and having survived over 40 days adrift in a life raft is captured by the Japanese and put in a brutal prisoner of war camp.

Nothing wrong with the acting, it just that the film doesn't grip you in the same way the book does and gloss's over a lot of things that happened to him and underplays his incredible ordeal and survival.

On Film4, so it'll be repeated soon.

This Rogue One thing. Not bad. Spotted a few in-jokes. If you like Star Wars it's probably great. Just a bit too long for the rest of us I reckon...

400,000 soldiers on that beach, looked like a few hundred on the film.
1 german plane bombing them on the beach? There was hundreds of German bombers used, they bombed them every hour as they had to go back and refuel.
A few rescue boats to rescue 30,000 soldiers? 900 boats more like.

So yeah a not very realistic version of events.
 

The Magnificent Seven (newer one). Thought it was great entertainment. Faraday, Horne and Billy were boss. 7/10.

Turns out that despite its diverse cast of cool characters it's STILL racist though because the Mexican is too Mexican and nobody questions why a black lead in cowboy era isn't getting questioned.

Watched this on Film4 the other night.

True life story of 22 yr old Cheryl Strayed whose life was falling to bits following the death of her mother and decided to get her head together and off smack, by walking the 1100 mile Pacific Costal Trail. She with no prior experience or training.

Reese Witherspoon is very good and looks much better without tons of make up, but it's one of those films that uses flashbacks to emphasise stuff and this ruins the flow of the film.
