Last Film You Watched

The Wall

A tense, effective and enjoyably brief Snipe-fest

Watched that last night myself, enjoyed it but thought it could have been better. Couldn't put my finger on what it was missing.

A solid 7 though

Some weird Evertonian telepathic thing going on last night, as I watched this too. Thought the lead actor was really rather good, but some of the stuff the Iraqi sniper came out with was a bit cheesy. Quoting Poe at him etc.

Did either of you eat a twirl while you watched it?

I watched this as well...bizarre.

Enjoyed it, the thing that struck me was that the main actor was being filmed for so long in single shots, did a great job

Brill. Love the apes films me. Grew up watching the old ones, I know the later ones are a bit ropey but I got a real soft spot for the 'planet of'. When they announced that they were doing a CGI remake, directed by a guy who'd basically done Hollyoaks, my hopes were not high, but this is one of the great movie trilogies. Compelling, tragic, ambitious big budget cinema with tons of action along with moments of pure heart and at the centre of it, an evolution in technical work that reached an apex in this one; simply stunning effects.
Lovely soundtrack as well.

It's the monkey business.

Under The Skin - shape changing alien lands in Scotland...or something. I wonder how they sold this concept to Scarlett Jo.

Still who cares when she gets her kit off.
Film works well for all that, in a strange addictive way.
She plays it well as a stranger in a very strange land.
