Last Film You Watched

Have to disagree with the brilliant blade runner 2049 reviews...

I missed the start as a bunch of Koreans kept shining their phones which massively distracted me...

The story was very good but extremely slow...at the end I was like..."oh, ok"...not emotionally invested in it...

Not a patch on the first one I thought...

Will give it another viewing though just because its 'Blade Runner'...

Also the ending was really odd...just sets up a third movie imo.

It felt super long to me...perhaps with audience distractions (Asians excl Japanese always find ways to annoy in the cinema) which broke it up a heck of a lot.

I think without giving away spoilers, that the question you pose was simply the emotional rollercoaster which joe went through (if that makes sense).

For someone who lives in Asia you don’t half have a problem with the arl Asians eh, Zat.

Annoys me to sit down in a cinema and they use their phones non-stop and talk through the movies...have to complain to staff and when that almost always doesn't work I have to tell them myself which has a 80% success rate.

Paperhouse: 80's british supernatural drama about coming-of-age, great idea and some nice camerawork but poor acting and even worse voice dubbing. Still a 7/10 because the concept stays with you.

Mama: by-the-book ghost horror with standard jump scares but fun to watch with horror beginners (as we did, lots of screams!) 6/10

Battle Los Angeles...almost unwatchable due to horrible camerawork, one good scene near the end when blowing up a ship...3/10

Doomsday Book...Korean anthology of 3 short sci-fi segments...original wacky stuff tho' the 1st & 3rd stories are a little laboured, the middle story is the best, recalling Asimov's Robot stories. 7/10 overall.

Moonrise Kingdom...boooooring...very skippable...some nice landscape and interior shots...3/10

War for the Planet of the Apes

Another good POTA movie, outstanding effects - the apes look so realistic now.

Only issue with these movies is that they are on the Monkey's side. Why?

8/10

Geostorm, by the numbers disaster movie which Gerard Butler saves to a 6.5

The Babysitter, actually LOL funny in parts...7/10 of ridiculousness

Brawl in cell block 99, vince Vaughan in a real grindhouse role, 7/10

A Propher, amazing French crime movie 8.5/10

Atomic Blond, very messy 4/10
