Jackie

Loved it. Natalie Portman is amazing in it, so cold.

Watched a couple yesterday, X Men Apocalypse. After Logan this was empty, campy, spectacle, really dull.
Then Hail, Caesar! Not sure on this latest from the Coen's. A lot of characters (as usual with their work) but they're all a bit lightweight, and some good set pieces, it just felt very inconsequential, but as a satire of Hollywood maybe that's the point. I'll view it again at some point, I wasn't sold on Inside Llewellyn Davies or A Serious Man on first go but I've grown to love them.

Can only seem to be able to get into films based on true events recently.

The latest being Rescue Dawn on Netflix starring Christian Bale portraying Dieter Dengler, an American fighter pilot that was shot down over Laos and taken captive by enemy soldiers during the Vietnam war.

If you like this type of movie i'd certainly recommend it.

The Hatton Garden Job.

Not bad. Usual suspects in the lead roles.

The Glass House and The Watcher on Netflix while killing time. Not bad.

John wick 2. Surprisingly as bad if not worse than the first. Christ how the mighty Hollywood has fallen.... Well, I say fallen... mighty... .pffft It was always pap but this very film must be its gut wrenching.. gurgling death cry.
I think I will stick with the nords for my tv and movie fix's for now on

Baywatch (2017)

Well it was a bit crap really. And I like silly movies a lot and am totally biased towards Rock and Efron. Normally.

Had a couple of proper laugh moments though I guess.

But every single woman in this movie is incredible. So worth seeing.

IMG_1539.webp Watched this again today.

A small town in Alaska where the sun doesn't rise for 30 days every Winter is attacked by Vampires.

Taken from the graphic novel of the same name.

It got mixed reviews, which I think were pretty unfair to it tbh, as it's a good film, with a different slant on vampires.

Josh Hartnett is outstanding as the sheriff.

Life. Surprisingly good and one of the closest to the original Alien for that claustrophobic feeling.

Much better than Ghost in the Shell which I found a total disappointment.
