This was on last night.
Despite the stellar cast, it was a load of rubbish.
Sometimes books don't translate into films, this is one of them.
The only plus points are that Kate Beckinsale is stunning ( as usual ) and Ben Kingsleys performance as the mad doctor was so bad, it was actually funny.

Adventureland. One of my favourites.

In the northern reaches of Maine, a local school bus driver becomes distracted during her end-of-day inspection, and fails to notice a sleeping boy in the back of the bus. What happens next shatters the tranquility of her small Maine logging town, proving that even the slightest actions have enormous consequences.
One of the reviews, that I sort of agree with is -
On one level, "Bluebird" is a bitter slice of life about hardy, stoic New Englanders battling the elements and a crumbling regional economy. On another, it's a poetic meditation on the human struggle to make sense of a cruel and indifferent universe.
It's definitely not fast paced.
