A classic of Wiemar cinema, and a brilliant star turn by Peter Lorre.

One of my favorite ever films that, when the Philomonic showed old films always hoped they would get that one a big screen

14 Oscar nominations for an ordinary boy meets girl story fluffed out with forgettable songs by forgettable singers.

There must've been some rubbish films released this year if this is classed as one of the best.
