Last Film You Watched

Don't know if this has been on here but,

Everest (2015) -

Based on a true story and with a fair few 'stars' in this - Josh Brolin, Keira Knightley, Jake Gyllenhaal and Robin Wright amongst loads of good actors (who you sort of don't really recognise in the film).

"On the morning of May 10, 1996, climbers from two expeditions start their final ascent toward the summit of Mount Everest, the highest point on Earth. With little warning, a violent storm strikes the mountain, engulfing the adventurers in one of the fiercest blizzards ever encountered by man. Challenged by the harshest conditions imaginable, the teams must endure blistering winds and freezing temperatures in an epic battle to survive against nearly impossible odds."

Worth a watch, 6.5/10.

If you get a chance, watch this.

No problem. Hope you don't have a dream about climbing Everest like I did.......

I started off thinking "I could do that, bit of gym work no probs", then realised that last go at 'climbing' Snowdon, I developed acrophobia (I think I did? Was hungover and a couple of hours sleep but, everything seemed spinny?)
Anyway, I wouldn't have the balls to do that, scary stuff!

A few climbers have said that Everest is actually easy to climb. It's the fact that it's the height it is that puts it out of reach of normal people, 5000 ft less and it would have been climbed much sooner....I'll take their word for it...
Hats off to anyone who's climbed that mountain. There's some amazing stats and records on wiki.

I did notice that there were a lot of ropes to attach to and keep you on the mountain but, even so.....wouldn't get me anywhere near it.
It seems it's the oxygen needed over the last ascent and descent?
The climbers have got to be actual heroes or stupidly brave?

Yeah, it's the descent that's supposed to be harder. Doesn't matter how strong and experienced they are, they've no idea how their body will react without oxygen until they're up there. Supposed to be a third less oxygen than sea level...I think??
Must be terrible for the families of climbers knowing they're going up there.

A good film and that bellend Bishop is only in it briefly

The kids were watching Megamind the other day. I wasn't really paying attention but it seemed quite entertaining. Felt like a bit of a ripoff of The Incredibles though.
