I watched this a few weeks ago. Sometimes funny, but mostly annoying. Could have been great, you're right.

Under the Skin - Holy Moly :-O

Nightmares for weeks guaranteed

Strange movie though eh?

Watched 'Under the skin' for a second time. Still moody and quite brilliant.

WHAT ON EARTH ?!?!

Need to watch it in the cinema for the full experience.

Just seen it on beamer. 6/10. Not a sci-fi thriller like the book is, more of an art project. Style over substance. Boring and slow in places. No Kubrick, that's for sure, who liked to fill his frame with meaning. Still just about worth a watch for the interesting cinematography and deliciously-dark music (recalls Ligeti).

Nude watch: you get a fully buff Scarlett Johansson with a more womanly-body than I used to give her credit for, and you also get full view of entirely-erect manhoods, which must be a first for a mainstream film.

Not that this film is mainstream...tho' The Guardian voted it Number 1 Best Film of 2014. I think they were influenced by the arty-daringness of manhood.

Is Elysium any good? Loved District 9.

It's similar in a way to Chappie in that it's a pretty good romp whilst you're watching it, but doesnt stick in the mind like District 9 does.

Hopefully Blomkamp's Alien movie can help him get his mojo back
