So I've just seen the new Scary Movie film (much against my better judgement I might add) and I truthfully don't know if it was the worst piece of crap that I've seen in my entire life, or if I'm just a miserable old sod who doesn't see that the whole franchise has always been crap but I was just younger and more easily pleased when the first one's where on the cinema. Both could very easily be true.

Think they may have just come for the money this time, that type of humour is dead, sadly.

I ended up watching the first Scary Movie last night because I was genuinely curious to see if my visceral dislike of the new one was justified. And I can officially confirm that the new one is just that bad. Its not like the original one had me falling about laughing like I was thirteen again and watching it at the cinema. But it definitely still got a couple of real laughs from me which is far more then can be said for the trainwreck that is the sixth film.

I ended up watching the first Scary Movie last night because I was genuinely curious to see if my visceral dislike of the new one was justified. Airplane was the best, Naked Gun (not the reboot) was ok, Hotshots and Scary movies are just incredibly crap

The first two are still mildly amusing imo. They're just products of their time, which is clearly long past now. 3-6 are indeed incredibly crap.

Not sure it`d be allowed on tv nowadays.

Tropic Thunder is incredibly funny. Slightly different humour of course, not so much slapstick but one of the funniest recent comedies

the wayans brothers were connected with the first two movies, all of the ones after that have been crap.

I remember renting the first one from blockbuster when I was in school.
