+1 so only half way.

seems to be one of the covid lockdown efforts, her on her lonesome.

exorcist, 2001, moon, ring, seventh seal, drag me to hell, blair witch, smile. There's a lot of pinches of other films spices here.

The Birds

I think Hitchcock got lost in the technical aspects and certain aspects of Tippi Hedren with this one. You have to give the special effects a pass given the age of the film but meeting the two pretty bland lead characters in what is an awful opening act makes it an uphill slog.

A couple of supreme moments of suspense and the downbeat ending works but it's comfortably the worst of the 'Big 5' Hitchcocks for me.

Was originally filmed and made for 3D but audiences suddenly went off it and it had to be remade/done/edited for the orthodox film screening.

Hitchcock took a very pretty damsel in distress and amped up the intrigue. Was a winning formula.

Isn't that exactly what it was supposed to be? The next season. Then Disney decided it wanted a film, so it had to be reworked into something first time watchers could "enjoy", while also catering to long time show viewers.
Yep.
I went to watch it today with my kid, I had watched the series, but they hadn’t, it didn’t make much difference, you didn’t need to see the series really to watch the film. We both enjoyed it and generally the feedback from fans has been positive. I personally would prefer 1 Star Wars film per year than 2 series with 8 episodes each per year. I think it makes more financial sense for Disney because they get money from the box office, can sell it for at home rental and then put it on Disney plus anyway.

Obsession - Very good Monkey's paw movie. Performances and cinematography were excellent, especially considering the budget

Backrooms - Young director bringing his Youtube shorts to life in a feature length movie very well indeed. Some genuinely unsettling parts.

Another good year for horror so far. The genre is pretty much single handedly saving cinema. We are 'eating good' as the kids say
