Last Film You Watched

It's Halloween week, so horror or related movies only for me every day this week.

Last night went with The Cabin In The Woods. I'd seen it before but it really is just so clever I needed to get another viewing in. Love everything about it, even though it's not particularly scary.

I watched the Turkish horror Baskin on Sunday night and it's so so good. Really unusual to see a film that can combine atmosphere and gore all in one without detracting from the other.

Hunt out the Swedish vampire film - Let the Right One In. ( American remake : Let Me In - good, but just doesn`t have the impact of the original )

It will 100% change your mind on foreign language films.

It`s a staggeringly good film and although horror takes a back seat throughout most of the film, when it does come it`s brutal.

It`s got one of the most heart wrenching endings of any film that I`ve ever seen.

It`s taken from a wonderful book of the same name and the film is equal to the book in every way.
Oh, I'm one of those foreign language folks mate, so I don't have a problem with Swedish as such. But calling a Norwegian movie Swedish... :whip: ?

Btw, the dad (old man) was my favorite character!

Låt Den Retta Komma In is an excellent film, despite being Swedish. Loved it. The yank remake is alright but like so many other Hollywood adaptions I felt it lost a lot of the "feel" of the original. Difficult to describe but that honest vibe is one thing European movies do way better than the yanks. For the most part.

Went to see Dune today and really enjoyed it. Never read the books or seen the Lynch film from the 80’s so went in pretty fresh. I saw it on IMAX (luckily 2D) and I’d advise anyone to watch it that way if you possibly can. The visuals and the sound deserve to be experienced in that way.

Not a surprise at all but glad to see the sequel has been green lit.

Sinister is on the Horror Channel tonight at 9pm.

Imo, one of the best horror films of all time. Ethan Hawke perfectly cast and an inspired re writing of the Bogey Man fable.

It’s a long time since a film unsettled me that much.

Cabin in the Woods is a cracker too.

Remember chatting to you about Sinister before. I didn't really like it on my first viewing, but it's on my list to go back and revisit. Maybe even tonight!

lol yeah not at all related to Dune except for the sandworm concept.
