Last Film You Watched

This one is great - we had it so good when it came to action / sci-fi thrillers back in the '80's. This kid is really enjoying it, almost 40 years since it first came out.

At the 25 Minute 40 second mark - "Boy went multiple choice on his ass" ha ha ha ha ha I can't cope with that, just brilliant

This was significantly better than I thought it would be :

The Stronghold.

Set in the slums of Marseille, three very unorthodox plain clothes policemen, go full on, against a gang of drug dealers, set up in an old tower block.

It’s like the Shield meets Fauda, with some lovely filming of old Marseille.

The acting is all round good, it’s believable, it’s non stop and with a plot twist in the last twenty minutes, that you really don’t see coming

Netflix ( French subs )

Surprised to find this had been remade.
Not surprised to find that they should have left it alone.

To be fair, its not terrible, it has a perfectly decent cast, solidly made and does try to do something different with the story but the slick style, obvious plot and CGI just doesn't stand up to the unsettling, hallucinatory tragedy of the original.
It does have the ever lovely Nicole Beharie in it however, so there's that.

On Prime.

Watched The Green Knight on Prime. Would have been way better in the cinema but wasn’t on anywhere convenient for me.

Not sure about it really. Was very excited and had high expectations. Think it strayed a little too far from the original story with scenes it could have done without.
