Last Film You Watched

Requiem For A Dream.

Absolutely love it, one of my favourite films and in a way something that we can all relate to in how we turn to (potentially) addictive things to escape from reality. Be it food, drink or drugs in some peoples' cases.

Amazing original score by Clint Mansell, great performances (who'd have thought Shorty from Scary Movie could be such a good actor?) and an unbelievably difficult last 15 minutes, easily one of the hardest things I've ever watched.

Everyone has their own opinion, but I though Requiem For a Dream was cack, man. I've seen better episodes of The Bill.

"Looking forward" is perhaps the wrong expression, but I'm eagerly anticipating "12 Years A Slave" which opens in the UK on January.

"12 Years A Slave hits you like a 10 foot breaker: a deep, physical thud that washes over and through you, churning you up inside it, leaving you broken afterwards, the traces still lingering on your skin"

Looks really good.

The Notebook.

Not as bad as I expected but I had to ruin all the romantic bits by trying to be funny as they were a bit awkward considering me and my girlfriend are the most unromantic couple ever. I felt a bit arl arse on that second fella like. He seemed like a nice guy who loved that Allie girl then suddenly she's goosing Ryan Gosling behind his back and we're meant to be happy about this? Plus the ending was glaringly obvious.

9/10 as those films go, 6/10 for films in general, would probably watch it again.

Ghost in the Shell.

Never seen it before, and it is supposed to be amongst the best Anime/Manga efforts of all. I would give it 7/10

I love Ghost In The Shell.

Very thought provoking and way ahead of it's time. Did you know the Wackowskis showed this when they were trying to get the Matrix made? You can see a lot of this in that.

The first GITS tv series, Stand Alone Complex is amazing too. The Laughing Man stuff is just mental.

Just got World War Z, looking forward to it. Also heard Captain Phillips is great, last film I watched was Notting Hill rough as toast Sunday morning and it was as good as ever!
