Last Film You Watched

Watched Tenet. Looked great, and suspect that a second watch will tie up some technical-type questions I have.

But paper thin characters, and every line of dialogue seemed like plot exposition.

Also rewatched the The Lighthouse, and really liked that a lot second time round. Claustrophobic, creepy, with great performances and some striking imagery.

American Film Institute Top 100. There are loads on there which were probably ground breaking at the time but look crude now. Citizen Kane is no 1, though I wouldn’t put it in my top 500.My rule is that I have to watch it again if I’ve not seen it in the last 15 years or so.Next on the list is The Wizard of Oz

I don’t think I’ll be taking over Barry Normans job anytime soon
Casablanca on BBC 2 in half an hour if you’ve not crossed that off the list yet.

Quality film.

Baz Luhrmann's Romeo and Juliet. Hadn't seen it for probably 20 years and forgot what a radical film it is. I remember being annoyed when it first came out that the modern retelling kept the text word for word but I can appreciate it now. Brilliantly acted although it suited to that being more of a play.
