I went to the flicks today and saw On The Rocks, a rather silly romcom with Bill Murray doing his usual lazy thing. There were some good shots of New York.

It was just nice to be in a cinema again eating sweets in the dark.

It’s the first horror that’s actually unsettled me for quite a while.

Minimal use of CGI and maximum use of creepiness, suspense and location wins every time.

Shades of Sinister, which is still one of my all time favourites.

It’s on Netflix for those that like creepy and disturbing horror films.

The very final scene with the husband at the temple, let it down a bit, but other than that it was a good horror, which is hard to do nowadays, as most stuff has been done to death.

The Last Black Man in San Francisco. Unusual but quirky.

Possessor, by Brandon Cronenberg (son of David). It's about an agent who jacks into other people's bodies so they can then commit murders. Good stuff, and obviously influenced by his father's films (as was his first/previous film, Antiviral).
