Last Film You Watched

Few ive watched over last few days.
Last night i watched The Warriors, all time classsic 10/10, highly recommended but not the directors cut that came out a while back, isnt as good, as it goes the best version is the one i recorded off TV yearssss ago but the start on the TV version is missing on the DVD

None of these ones i had seen before, The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas, moving film about the holocaust with an upsetting ending, kind of thing im trying to avoid right now! Thought it was good they demonstrate how young school children were taught to hate the Jews even if it has got a few other historical errors in it.

Hidden Agenda, Ken Loach film about the troubles in Ireland, typial Loach, decent film. Apart from 71 Ive not seen much about Ireland in the 70s/80s on the look out for more films like this

Murder at 1600, enjoyed this one too, Wesley Snipes crime drama about a murder in the Whithouse and a frame up, was decent

The Sentinel, was ok, not one of Michael Douglas best, about an assassination attempt on the President

Enemy of the State, enjoyed this one, Gene Hackman is ace as always in this. Interesting thriller about the secret service spying watching some lawyer kind of thing, worth a watch, prefered it to some of Will Smith later stuff

82056

Very different from what I was expecting but a good, if rather intense, watch. A gifted young writer finds that life's tragedies provide both rich professional inspiration and oppressive personal baggage...

Bad boys for life, silly even for a bad boys film, too much style over substance, crap.

the gentleman, try’s a bit too hard, picked up towards the end though, some horrendous accents on show

Do tell.

The Way Back - Ben Affleck is a cracking actor like. Very good film feel for his character and his struggles with drink and the loss of his son/breakdown of his marriage. The basketball part is good too

I'll give it a 8/10

Watched Les Miserables - not the one about Jean Valjean, but the one that was recently up for the Oscar. It's set in and around a tough Paris housing estate, as we see three police officers go about their business as racial tensions simmer (despite the feelgood factor of France having just won the World Cup). It's well-made, tense, and definitely worth seeing (Amazon backed it, so I expect it'll be on Prime soon), although I think La Haine covered similarly ground more successfully, all of 25 years ago.

Also watched The Wild Goose Lake - a solid and decent Chinese crime thriller, which was one I wanted to see at the cinema but didn't manage to get along to. It's worth a look and the cinematography is superb, but in the end it's good rather than great.
