Last Film You Watched

Saw The Irishman at the weekend - was planning on waiting for it on Netflix, but cracked and took the chance to see it on the big screen. Very solid stuff. The de-ageing FX took a short time to get used to, but after a while you don't really think about it. Joe Pesci arguably gives the finest performance here; also good to see Harvey Keitel doing something other than trying to sell insurance, although he's not in it for as much as I would have liked.
I heard it feels about half hour too long

Once you stand back from it (i.e. thinking about it later on), you can see how it could maybe use a little bit of tightening up (probably somewhere around the middle section), but while watching it I was so drawn into its world and characters that I didn't really feel as if it dragged at any point. Although it was great to see it on the big screen, I can see how the bladder-punishing running time makes it better suited to home viewing. They used to give longer films (such as 2001) an intermission, but not this, and it could definitely do with one.
