One to watch out for on Netflix, as it's one of theirs.

Based on a true story, doesn't take sides and presents a balanced view from both sides of the Iraq War.

Follows a young army reservist ( Nicholas Hoult ) who joins up to pay his college fees, just before the Iraq war and ends up with his unit defending a Iraqi village against insurgents, whilst engineers sort of the water supply.

Thoughtful film and worth a watch.

Watched “what happened to Monday” with; Glenn Close, willem Defoe and Noomi Rapace. I thought it was brutal and brilliant, Rapce was amazing in it, she plays 7 identical sisters. Synopsis below;

In a world where families are allowed only one child due to overpopulation, resourceful identical septuplets must avoid governmental execution and dangerous infighting while investigating the disappearance of one of their own.

If you have Netflix it’s worth a watch

Netflix seem to be doing some good films, another one I`d rec if you liked this one is - Spectral, military scfi ( Netflix )

Saw 'Darkest Hour' at the weekend.

6/10 - enjoyable enough to a degree but too long. Main criticism is the way it handles all the death and horror of WW11 as if it's a little soap opera in the background.

Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy - Gary Oldman in the Smiley role.

Great camera work and locations but the thing would have been incomprehensible if I hadn't read the book a dozen times.

That sounds like a film I'd be balls deep into, cheers for the heads up

We took our six year old grandson to see Paddington Bear 2 today. Enjoyed it very much along with all the other oldies with their littlies. We all laughed out loud right through, except for the sad bits. It was too good for the kids, tbh and I give it top marks.

Saw the both at the cinema with my gf. They're just good, fun films, irrespective of age, although obviously they are (mainly) aimed at kids.

Is he playing twins in it? The cover art is confusing.

It`s just two different shots of Nicholas Hoult.

He`s very good in it.

Really good actor, but using two shots of the same actor on the poster is strange. It's usually one or the other. Must be a cheap mock up by someone using paint.

Yes, they are aimed at the kids and they obviously enjoy them, but a lot of the humour is more easily understood by adults, I think.
Anyway, it doesn't matter. Everybody loved it and it's the best picture I've seen for a while.
