Wakefield area as well (though that is primarily rugby league)

Plus they are brought up to actually 'play'.

Barnsley have always had a good academy as well. Used to be a bit of a feeder club for Utd/City.

If a manager these days is "full of himself" for expecting a player to come in for treatment and pull his finger out, then there's no hope for the future of the game.

It's not really that, it's more to do with Ginge's comments when he was trying to grab players from us to ManUre - the old "shouldn't hold players back" thing. Two-faced ballbag, by that reckoning he shouldn't be holding Kone's career back by keeping him at Sunderland. Just sayin'

He has caused a stir just as Lescott did with us, who then went on to have a very decent settled career, we got Distin and Heitinga out of that fee and the world was a happy place again.

Once he has played for us and done well, all of this will be forgotten.

Holgate went to Leeds mate when he was about 14. Only spent a few months there though.

He had a trial at Utd as well before he signed for us.
