Transfer Rumour Lamine Kone

Where do your get your figures, coupled with claiming he is currently on 15k a week?

Supposedly after being told he would be offered a new contract on 1st Sept, and because he wasn't happy with that, Sunderland put his new contract on the table the other day, reportedly increasing his wages to 50k a week mate, Moyes came out and said Kone had knocked the new contract offer back.

All media speculation to tell you truth mate, apart from the Moyes coming out and saying he had knocked the contract back bit, Moyes Deffo said that.

Fair enough pal. I thought it was widely reported he was on 40k a week mate which seems a lot more feasible.

I sort of have to laugh at some lads who are saying Kone is digging his heels in because he has set his heart on joining us, a load of crap, if another club came in for him and offer him more dosh than we did, his heart will be set on joining that club.

He's appeared though and he's turned it down, just six months after signing his original contract and when his new club, of whom he's received much adoration from the fans, needs him most.

In a saturated market of lamentable behaviour this is right up there.
Sunderland really shouldn't have offered a new contract, as with any offer he has the right then to refuse it, however, don't like that sort of thing and don't really want someone like that in our club.

So you're practically endorsing slavery then?

I'm not endorsing anything. That is a statement of how I see the transfer system in modern football.
Just because some footballer links football to slavery it doesn't mean we all have to follow suit, what Ronaldo said is like 99% of what modern footballers say, it is utter sh#t.

You've just said that footballers are mere commodities to be traded mate.

I'd have expected a little more sensitivity when talking about any African potentially coming to the city of Liverpool, after our past.

I said footballers are commodities, I believe they are treated in that way. If I say Teresa May is Prime Minister does that mean I am endorsing her as PM? There is a difference in stating something which you believe to be true and endorsing it.
