TRAORE: "When you think it's been nearly five months since I played a competitive game, it was great to get 60 minutes under my belt. I'll start to feel even better when I've had a few more games, but I feel good now. I will start to get my full match fitness and continue improving.''

Is this some sort of joke? I was annoyed that we loaned in an injured striker who was out for a couple of weeks, but he hasn't played a competitive game in 5 months? Joke that

you do realise he came from the russian league which stops for winter?

People really need to understand this. He's literally in pre-season mode right now.
I did not know that...
But how frustrating is that.. Trying to push on for the second half of the season and we bring in a lad who is a) injured and b) not had any game time for 5 months so you're going to be spending a good 4-6 games getting him back to match fitness.. We don't have time to be doing that.. :(

Maybe, just maybe. We see this guy as a perm signing in the summer. So getting him on loan now, makes massive sense.

Or Maybe we have see a chance to take a player that has cost over £30 million, for a few months.

A small injury should not stop us taking him on.

This, RM playing the long game I think. Too many of our fans are thinking short term but RM is clearly planning long term and is either going to sign him perm in summer or a season long loan.

I did have reservations about signing a beanpole and still do but congrats to him on his first goal. Time will tell in more games how good/bad he is.

What I do not understand and this applies not just to Troare but other players. You are professional sportsmen how can you let yourself become unfit? never heard of a gym or a run round a park. Troare talks of getting himself fit, when, we only have a dozen or so games left to play!!.

His long limbs make him an excellent poacher as we saw yesterday. Thats his job primarily when i've seen him play. He's quick over the ground and can make it very difficult for defenders to get near the ball to tackle him because he's so rangey. I thought we were looking to extend the loan for another year, werent we?

Thought he looked lively, a good athlete. We'll see how much of a footballer he is when he's gotten his feet under him.

Match fit is very different. Hi is fit as a fiddle, is actual fitness terms.

But match-speed fitness is totally different.

As much as his match fitness, is the fact that he needs to adjust to the pace/strength of the prem.
