I think I would need them, but it's more to do with me not reading enough when I was at school, I am particular weak when it comes to these phrases that I don't normally used.

Any reference books or web site I could go to learn more of these expression?

Is English your second language? If so TEOFL IBT reading is a good a place as any to sharpen your skills.

...............

still no official word that he has signed for spuds. i'm not so sure this situation is all lost..

The chap they are offering is a nomark. Redknapp will be glad to get him off the wages list.

He was a promising English youngster at Leeds youth academy - Spurs caught wind of it and swooped with a £1m bid.

Three years later - he has yet to play a single match for Spurs.

I am fluent in two language and I am not in UK at the moment, I am oversea so, I am using more of the other language so I get mix up.

It just my excuse, to be honest I just never used those phrases before and I am not doing enough reading.

let's hope they are coming to us, instead of Spurs!

Not surprised. You can see the same happening to one or both of these lads too. Shame.

Was Hibbert always the fall back option with Coleman in reserve? Wish Everton would have given Jacobsen another year on their offer and kept him as tidy cover.

Unfortunately, I think the hole at RB will force a move in the January window where Everton will either overpay or get a quality player who finds himself out of sorts due to the mid-season switch.

This is getting really interesting

If they were going to Spurs, they probably would have announced it by now.

Something's holding the move up...

Let's hope it's Naughton trying to force a move to us.

From another forum :

DOMINIC KING JUST BEEN ON AND SAID HE HAS BEEN ON TO NAUGHTONS AGENTS AND NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE AND HE STILL WANTS TO JOINI US

talksport....

Make of it what you want.

The right side of the team needs sorting out this summer. Every other team now will know how to hurt us - stop the left side and hammer the right.

The Lescott situation is just making things harder if it happens - we'll have to then get a class centre half as well as a new right back and winger.

We need a winger more so than a right back IMO. But being that these have seemed to have buggered off...will Sergio Sanchez be on the cards? I hope so.

I don't even know if Naughton and Walker are good enough to step up to the prem, but I wanted to beat Spurs to their signatures so much.

Just to prove to myself that football hasn't died.

But i think its long gone, this proves players would rather go and sit on a bench for more money than play for a more proven side.

Hate them yids!!!

F@cking wobbly head

Everton Way = deal done, announcement made. Someone has clearly lost the plot.

Tell me, when do you feel Everton "weren't blamless"? I know that may be a difficult one for an apologist of the current regime to answer.

OK. Deal done= Agreement was reached with Sheffield Utd on thursday last week. It was Sheffield Utd to renaged on that deal, not Everton, nor Tottenham. Neither you nor Steevie seem to blame them for their money grabbing tactics.

Announcement made = Well you can't make an announcement until you've met the player, agreed terms and had a medical. He was on holiday in Malta. Talks had already been planned upon his return on Monday. You can't ask him to do a medical in Malta.

Of course, Moyes should have flown him back by private jet:lol: but if it was on holiday with his family, and he had no reason to rush back why would we do that?? Hindsight is a great thing though. (y)

And you can't conclude a deal if the manager of Sheffield Utd then blabs to the media about a deal being accepted and then another team legitimately makes a counter bid. Of course we should have had a NDA (None Disclosure Agreement). That would have solved it eh, but NDA's in football context don't hold water.

And we thought that we were doing a deal with honourable people. Clearly we weren't.

I fail to see how Everton are to blame. Perhaps you'll actually explain how they are to blame. Your intelligent enough, go on amuse me. Steevie can join in as well, It will be fun.

Finally, I find no insult being called an apologist, but would prepare the term a supporter of the current regime, which doesn't mean I am not critical of some of the boards actions. I think you'll find I am not in a minority of one on that score.

I simply dont find them to blame for every single thing that happens like you do. If it rained when Everton played at home, I am sure that you'll find a way to blame the current regime.

I cannot disagree more mate. I have a lot of time and respect for both you and BT, but we have made a mess of yet another transfer. The fact that we are getting outdone by clubs like Tottenham is so frustrating. We are set to make a repeat of last summer and the sooner we face the reallity, the smoother the blow will be.

Steevie, explain in simple words how Everton have fcuked this one up. Go on, like Davek you're not an idiot. I am sure you can string some words together which explains how Everton fcuked up a sure deal which goes beyond how frustrated you are.

In a later post you make one good point. We should be pursuing a numbr of options at the same time for the same position. I agree with you fully, though that would be very time consuming, and its not the way Moyes works it appears. Personally, I wish it was.

agreed about the right side. the cup final just showed everyone in the country how bad hibbert can be.

A bloke on another forum said that talksport said that Dominic King said that his agent said that Naughton said he wants to sign for us?

This is so totally in the bag,
