Everton Way = deal done, announcement made. Someone has clearly lost the plot.
Tell me, when do you feel Everton "weren't blamless"? I know that may be a difficult one for an apologist of the current regime to answer.
OK. Deal done= Agreement was reached with Sheffield Utd on thursday last week. It was Sheffield Utd to renaged on that deal, not Everton, nor Tottenham. Neither you nor Steevie seem to blame them for their money grabbing tactics.
Announcement made = Well you can't make an announcement until you've met the player, agreed terms and had a medical. He was on holiday in Malta. Talks had already been planned upon his return on Monday. You can't ask him to do a medical in Malta.
Of course, Moyes should have flown him back by private jet

but if it was on holiday with his family, and he had no reason to rush back why would we do that?? Hindsight is a great thing though.
And you can't conclude a deal if the manager of Sheffield Utd then blabs to the media about a deal being accepted and then another team legitimately makes a counter bid. Of course we should have had a NDA (None Disclosure Agreement). That would have solved it eh, but NDA's in football context don't hold water.
And we thought that we were doing a deal with honourable people. Clearly we weren't.
I fail to see how Everton are to blame. Perhaps you'll actually explain how they are to blame. Your intelligent enough, go on amuse me. Steevie can join in as well, It will be fun.
Finally, I find no insult being called an apologist, but would prepare the term a supporter of the current regime, which doesn't mean I am not critical of some of the boards actions. I think you'll find I am not in a minority of one on that score.
I simply dont find them to blame for every single thing that happens like you do. If it rained when Everton played at home, I am sure that you'll find a way to blame the current regime.
I cannot disagree more mate. I have a lot of time and respect for both you and BT, but we have made a mess of yet another transfer. The fact that we are getting outdone by clubs like Tottenham is so frustrating. We are set to make a repeat of last summer and the sooner we face the reallity, the smoother the blow will be.
Steevie, explain in simple words how Everton have fcuked this one up. Go on, like Davek you're not an idiot. I am sure you can string some words together which explains how Everton fcuked up a sure deal which goes beyond how frustrated you are.
In a later post you make one good point. We should be pursuing a numbr of options at the same time for the same position. I agree with you fully, though that would be very time consuming, and its not the way Moyes works it appears. Personally, I wish it was.
