Kyle Naughton

Good old Tottenham - any whiff of a promising British talent and they swoop right in there to ruin them. As I've said time and time again.

£8m for Naughton - a player who has only played 40 times for one of the stronger clubs in the Championship. You can't criticise the club on this one, we made an acceptable offer - and we got gazumped by twitchy 'Arry.

Kyle Walker has only played 2 games for Sheff Utd - clearly Sheff Utd were keen to involve him in any deal - hardly surprising, considering we had a bid of £5m for Naughton accepted, Sheff Utd are going to receive £3m for a player who has just 2 games to his name.

Add Naughton and Walker to the list, along with Hutton, Bale, Dawson, Reid, Bent, Bentley, Bostock, Huddlestone, Gunter, Routledge and the rest of their 'young promising British talent'. Not to mention the likes of Dos Santos and 'Prince' Boateng.

Exactly. This happens every year with Spurs. They are the career killers of English football.

It is not the Naughton deal as a whole i am peeved off with mate, it is the lack of pulling power we seem to have. We should be selling the club to prospective targets but despite finishing 4th in the last two seasons, reaching two Semi-finals and one Final plus offering European football, we lose out to much less attractive outfits. I hate talking like this as i am generally positive about my beloved club, but these situations hurt me deeply.

You can't see this as a reflection on our 'pulling power'. We lost out because we didn't want to spend £3m on a player who has less than 180 minutes in the Championship under his belt - and then send him back for a season.

Its no wonder Sheff Utd wouldn't let us talk to Naughton.

What is unusual about that mate??

It says both player want to join David Moyes' side so they are going to White Hart Lane.

Doesn't make sense does it? If they are joining Moyes' side then they are heading Goodison not White Hart Lane!

It is understood that Naughton and Walker will agree to move to White Hart Lane

in preference to joining David Moyes' side.

Unless I misunderstood that line, I am pretty sure that's what being written!

May be we should change the manager name for the SkySport's article?

This deal should have been done back in May so all that was needed was the lawyers to pen the contracts come July 1st. We're back to square one now while other clubs have gone about their business in a professional & competent fashion and got about a month's headstart on us.

Everton simply do not do transfers very well at all.

What other clubs are these that got their players in before July 1st? - Real Madrid?

Google the phrase "in preference to" mate. It doesn't mean what you think it means.

Then I guess it mean the opposite then, normally I think "in preference to" meaning they would go to this place, because that person is there. Looks like I need a Grammer book to check out these things.

Wish they would write it in a simple expression, any way what ever it mean on SkySport mean nothing? Until it's confirm on Spurs OS or Everton OS.

What does "expression" mean? Is it like a train? Why can't you use monnysillybull words?

If we had the 'pull' we should Naughton would tell spurs where to go and inform his manager that he wants to come to us. They can hardly force him to go to spurs if he doesnt want to!

Yeah, you're mixing preference for and preference to! :P Back to class for you!!
