Everton remain hopeful that Kyle Naughton will become their latest signing.
The Blues are keen on securing the services of the 20-year-old full-back, having agreed a deal with Sheffield United.
Everton chairman Bill Kenwright said: "We agreed a deal on Thursday night with Sheffield for the transfer of Kyle Naughton and we were hopeful that last weekend we could meet the boy and do a medical.
"Things are ongoing, he hasn't had his medical and he's not an Everton player yet."
Naughton caught the eye for the Blades this season and he's now made 40 appearances for the Yorkshire outfit.
He also impressed Stuart Pearce, the England Under-21s manager handing him two caps last season.
Last term he also took United's young player of the season award and was included in the Championship team of the year.
