Apologies if this has been mentioned but another issue we may have is that David Luiz is out of contract in the Summer. With Cahill leaving too it would leave them very short at the back if the transfer ban is upheld.

How on earth do you come to the conclusion that Sari doesn’t rate him?The loan probably came about because of many factors. I personally doubt Sari had a lot of say between his late appointment in mid July and the closing of the transfer window as to which of the players were going out on loan those sort of decisions probably were madebased on views of already in place staff or indeed the plan possibly had been in place prior to the old manger being sacked
I do agree that he will want to be playing and I would suggest that the loan was all about recovery from injury.
In effect his recovery has been completed and facilitated fully on Everton’s watch that’s the downside of having a player out loan.

Thought he was crap a couple of months ago.

Now I think we’ve very little chance of signing him.

Football eh.

I think that is a valid point that Kurt and the clubs should consider in the Summer.

Zouma was nothing special to start with, often losing his man at set pieces and struggling with the zonal system.

In the last couple of months he has settled remarkably and now looks a certainty to start every game.

He has always been a bit part player at Chelsea, looked ordinary at Stoke last season 'fast but positionally suspect' was my Stoke supporting friends analysis.

At Everton he has found a home. He will start the majority of games and looks settled. He could also see a regular call up to the French national squad too. A return to Chelsea could head this too, but he could also find himself back out on loan if he struggles to adapt to yet another managers tactics.

Whatever the outcome I am sure the club have a contingency plan in place. Just that we would need another season for players to adapt again.

Chelsea have allegedly stated they want Zouma for their Pre-season.
It looks like he won't be staying unfortunately
It's win win for them if he stays he potentially be first team, or he leaves for a massive fee.

There in no rush to sell, if they want 40m it will be interesting to see if brands sanctions it.

I can't see mina working out, he went from potential la Liga/cl champions to no Europe at all for 2 seasons straight

This could be difficult to do with Chelsea's transfer position (unless it gets deferred late on).

We'd be paying for the fact the player has settled and looks to be enjoying his football, also he has a great relationship with Keane building. Probably worth paying close to 40 million for (and arguably a bigger priority than Gomes).

Chelsea are prudent sellers and will probably have to weight up say 35 million from us, or the likelihood they will get half that if they delay and wait.

More of a priority than Gomes imo.

Ageeed , the defence that was an absolute shambles at the beginning of the season has finally settled with Coleman now the weak link . Him a Keane look really good together and it would be typical of our luck if we finally got a defence together and then it’s broken up after 10 good games. I’m hoping that Chelsea get a new manger that spends big on a CB and we can nip in and sign Zouma, I said earlier in the season that I’d take him but wouldn’t want to pay the fee Chelsea would ask. I have changed my mind now and would pay 30m for him and even over pay a bit as we know he has settled, knows the club, manager, team mates and the prem , really is a risk free signing in such a position. Massive yes from me

While it would be way too much I'd honestly pay 40m for him, 24 years old.
Has so so much experience.
Slots into the team nicely.
Honestly we should try and do everything possible to get him even if we pay over the odds, He's worth it.

This, I think he’s a 30m player tbh but I would pay the 40m because of the things mentioned above. We apparently paid 7m loan fee for him and I imagine stoke paid similar so Chelsea have really made money on him if they sell for 40m

Them getting CL doesn't bode well for us, just from the standpoint of them needing a strong bench.
The scenarios I see where he comes back are Sarri deciding he absolutely isn't good enough on the ball for his system or Kurt deciding he wants out. Otherwise he probably stays and is barely seen next year.
