2018/19 Kurt Zouma

2 reasons I don't want Zouma. Firstly reminds me too much if Yobo and Distin with the way he can look good then all of the sudden lapses in concentration a sometimes his pace saves him others it doesn't and for the money Chelsea want he makes too many if these errors. Secondly I prefer a left footed CB on the left side and with Mina and Keane both being right footed I would like the player to play alongside them to ideally be left footed.

If he was anything like Yobo we wouldn't be far off.

A Rolls Royce of a defender. Love me some Yobo.

I liked Yobo but if Lescott had stayed and Jagielka hadn't got injured he was 3rd choice. I remember him messing with his shinguards and costing us a goal, also his square ball to Rooney when he was a Manc and they are just off the top of my head. Decent defender but not quite good enough and for the money Chelsea want I want someone better!

He was tying his laces against Charlton and they scored, iirc.

Yeah they were pretty bad, I do think his mistakes get overstated though. He did do them 2 things, he didn't get much else wrong though. Went a bit off the boil towards the end but for about 80% of his time here he was tremendous.

The two highlights of his Everton career! That shinguards thing was absolutely hilarious.

I remember he played a short spell alongside Distin and they were like keystone cops that short spell may have undone all his previous good work in my mind.

Oh to have three centrebacks of the quality of Jags Lescott and Yobo in 07-09.

I also remember somebody coining the phrase the "Yobo Scoop" for his hoofed, lofty clearances. Had me in absolute tears. Still does, when I think about it.

....delighted when he was brought in because Brands clearly recognised the lack of athleticism in defensive areas. It’s appears doubtful he’ll be here beyond this season, but we certainly need his type if we are to progress.

I'm struggling to judge any of the players because to a man they're all underperforming. Like the manager I thought Zouma got off to a decent start, right up until that chelsea game when he had no choice but to miss out, that was the start of all the rotation and the defence hasn't looked the same since.

On the contrary, the defence was the best it looked between the Chelsea game until the Liverpool game. Only a 3 or so game period, but that didn't include Zouma. Personally I don't really rate him and I think his athleticism gets him out of a lot of trouble.
