Hes actually been started as sub 3 of the 4 games,last friday was his 1st start,just for info,as this is off course pre season

Zouma has only played 90 minutes in the first 3 pre seasons, he's sub again, if lampard wanted him wouldn't he be starting him most games specially today against Barca... don't think it's the end of the sage tbh

I don't think you can read too much into the starting line ups in pre season games mate. Said the same when people were saying the deal was off because Zouma started in the last friendly

Think if it is gonna happen it will be deadline day tho

If he pushes for a move he would not say the thing he did yesterday in the interview.

I seen that as nothing more than a public cry out for reassurances he will be first choice there this season there. I don’t see him getting the answer he wants from Lampard though and I still expect us to get him.

If I am their manager I would say the same thing as Lampard did. That is, IF you play well you will be a starter here. You know give him hope something like that.

We can’t afford to wait till 8th of August when he tells us he’s staying till January at least, to find out if Lampard would play him as starter.

Think zouma if he 100% stays at chelsea starts the season,due to the injurys they have,but may end up a sub again not long later when all are fit-but no one knows the Future,funny thing is even if we bid and it got accepted i half think he would say hes staying anyway,anyway he was one of 2 subs at ht to come on

Brands will have his fingers right on the pulse with this, he’ll know exactly when he has to move on and when not to.

Not yourself but I’m amazed how many posters seem to think he bids for Zouma and doesn’t even consider anything else until that gets rejected. Zouma himself was a last minute fall back option last summer for example.

All this we must move quick or we’ll have no time is a load of nonsense either.....we can and have done before, do 4 deals on the last day if need be.

The team that ended last season is easily good enough to get us through the early games. Even if we’d signed new players I’d imagine they’ll be expected to do so anyway.

What is important is that we get the correct players for Everton’s long term future and we don’t panic now and settle for second best just so we get them in.

It could be the difference between Wellbeck and Kean.

Despite injuries he will be behind christensen and Luiz...so might be on the bench initially...once rudiger is back he might not even make the bench...rudiger will be back early September...so if zouma stays at chelsea is very likely that he will not be selected by france for the euros...

Chelsea would mad to sell him. He's better than Rudiger, David Luiz is 32, and Zouma would make a natural partner for Christensen as they both mature. Why would you sell someone with so much experience in the Prem without giving them a proper chance in your first team?

I think he's better than Mina too, who I'm far from convinced will make it here, and missing out on Zouma would set us back massively with the disruption it'd cause to what's become quite a settled defence.

In short, we are in big, big trouble.

That's just my opinion though, and as always you can take it or leave it.

GODDAMNIT KURT.

Not really seen any names thrown around as to who else will be on Brands' shopping list.. Any ideas who we could be looking at to fill the gap Zouma leaves behind? As much as I love the big man we really should be wrapping up deals on other targets soon.

When do teams officially have to name their 25 man squad for the PL and CL?

Does this give us some hope? Reads to me like they have three to many foreign players and need to keep both Tomori and Salter Clarke to met the HG quota for the CL squad.
