I have to say Pennyroyal Tea did it for me. My buds and I were in college and had loads of bootleg live vids of Nirvana from pre-and-post Bleach era, and one had an early version of Pennyroyal Tea. It blew us away, we couldn't get enough of it. Were so happy when it was finally put out as a studio recording. There was a really early version of Rape Me as well that killed, but didn't hit us as hard as PT.

Only got to see them live once, sadly.

I'll never forget where I wad when I heard the news. Was just outside Birmingham on a Barnes travel coach on the way to Spurs. The coach all laughed an sang about it...... shows what people thought of him....

BTW we lost 3-2 cottee scored twice. Barmby got the winner for them
