He's mustard!!! Bit gutted about this as I thought we might have got him in a swap with Piana in jan.

Would be a great replacement for Mikel if and when he goes back to san miguel.

I don't think it's viable for us, even on loan. My understanding is that Levy is after some serious loan fees (seven figures) for the likes of Kranjcar and Bentley plus a full wage contribution.

If we don't have any money (or we do have some money and Moyes isn't prepared to spend without strengthening) then is £1m + £2m in salary costs on a loan good business??

But you'd surely sort out a low buy option at the end of it to balance the loan out costs?

Given they only paid £2/£3m for him in the first place, you'd think so. Though if they wanted to sell at that price in the first place and a club could raise the loan fee, then there wouldn't be a huge issue in arranging an outright transfer with a 24/48 month repayment schedule. Which raises the question of how much does Levy want for him?

The fact that it's a loan deal to Sunderland would make he think that Levy is both a) after turning a hefty profit for sides willing to buy him and b) simply looking to lessen his wage bill for a year whilst ensuring he's not got 25 registered players on the books post August (where he'll have to pay those surplus to Harry's needs for nothing effectively)

Is Kranjcar someone Moyes has expressed interest in previously, or merely a 'nice to have' as speculated by our fans? There's a big difference when it comes to identifying legitimate transfer targets...
