Kone Signs on 3 Year Deal

I expect Kone will get about 10 league goals in the coming season which is a fair figure. Signing a striker makes sense as we definitely need more options up front. Nevertheless, the thing that is not right is paying £5m or £6.5m for an aging player with no re-sale value which we all know such policy was a blueprint to survive for this club in the last 11 years. I also hope he won't lose any pace as he is about to enter 30s.

Still, I wish Kone the best of luck and hope he will do well for Everton.

Welcome Kone,
I know he's not everyone's cup of tea, but does he improve our striking options? Of course he does so its a thumbs up from me

Never mind Kone....that shirt he has on...we look like Birmingham City and that thing from the pound shop pinned on it !

Uninspiring, cant see many kids rushing out to get bloody Kone on the back. Type of player a Hull or the like would go for.

We needed a striker, we've got a striker. We'll see how it goes.

This to an extent. To me, it's not a good or bad signing by itself, it just remains to be seen what else we do this window. I think if they address 3-4 more positions in terms of starting XI or depth moves at wide midfield/forward, CM and CB, then I think you can have a different view of the signing. If it's just Kone and someone else, or prevents us from spending in certain other areas, then I'm not sure it's worth it. We'll see by the end of August I guess.

I wanted bony or someone of simlar younger ilk but hey, he could turn out brilliant for us. I'm sure Roberto took into consideration his age and fee and still decided he was the one he wanted to go for....maybe he won't be the only striker signing, maybe jelavic will be sold or maybe given to jan to prove his worth.

Hard to know exactly how to take this deal until we know what the future plans may be or who else is coming or going.
