Kone Signs on 3 Year Deal

kones stats are woeful - why we paid double what Wigan paid for him is baffling

I reckon this was what did the deal for RM. Dave 'have I told you that I broke my leg' Whelan was holding out for more compensation when it got to the stage during negotiations about us signing Wigan players. RM piped up and said how about Kone for £6m and DW told BK we could have them both :-)

Okay. So cos I won't accept a £6m striker who scored 11 goals for a relegated team. I'm " one of the worst", you can join Brunnan on ignore.

Have I been too harsh on Kone?

I mean, he drove me crazy in the game against Stevenage and he annoyed me in the Cardiff game as well (Jump lad! The defenders jumping for it, so you need to as well! It's basic science FFS!)

But, as some people love to keep mentioning, we've only had 4 games this year so far. Maybe he will now spring to life seeing as his mate from Wigan is in the team?

We'll need something for that Chelsea game, that's for sure

Really sad we've lost Vic as long term I'd have rather had him.

But I still rate Kone. Him and Lukaku will be good for us this year.

God knows what'll become of Jela though.

I rate Kone. He holds the ball up and turns well with it. Strong, powerful runner. Has Had close to no match time so far this season and is a couple of weeks behind the others due to that ramadan business. Should start against Chelsea definitely.

Joke really signing Kone for 6m and selling Vic for 6m.

Kone is finished in 2 seasons (if he already isn't...) while Vic is still a handful and if they're both gonna not score any goals I'd sure as hell rather have local lad and bruiser Victor Anichebe then this stupid-looking Kone lid whose probably on 50% more than Vic was on and will likely score less goals than Vic this and every season in the future.

Don't get me wrong, selling Anichebe for 6m was good business, but if that money went straight on Kone as it appears it's pathetic.

Firstly, we'd already bought Kone, so it's not like Vic went to make way for him ffs. Vic went to make way for the fantastic Lukaku, but hardly surprising that a negative goon like you skipped past that minor detail.

Secondly, Kone is a 1 in 3 striker over his career, Vic's record is nearer 1 in 7. Despite his improvement last season for £6m he simply had to go, he's never going to make a top PL striker, nor will he ever hit 1 in 3 consistently either imo.
