Koeman Not Confident On Barkley

I can't fathom that at all Eggs and I'd say I'm not on my own. Living in your own city, multi millionaire, poster boy and likely to lead out the team in a new iconic stadium. How can that be a job?

I type this as my 40 mile train journey from work has just begun and the bar hasn't opened yet.

..I know, Matey but it is their career just like you and I have ours. They are young men in demand who have ego's and will believe they can star at the highest level.

lollollollol

Wrong on so many levels. The period after Christmas when was played as one of 3 up top Barkley looked like an absolute beast, he was controlling games, even ones when the rest of the team were poor.

He was hungry in regaining possession, going deep to drag defenders away from their position allowing others to exploit.

He looked the player we all believed he was; but inconsistency struck. Little things like giving the ball away and taking that extra second to locate a pass started to creep back into his game. These little things then play on his mind, you can see it has he seems to question his initial though process.

He fitted perfectly dave, don't let the tabloids tell you any different
Absolute beast as one of three up top, you say?

He was doing that three seasons ago.

'kin ell.

I wouldn't be a bit surprised if his personal issues are a sticking point here. He's been threatened before and there may be another cloud hanging over him with Liverpool's underworld.

He was in the whole behind Lukaku, and that lasted one full season and then had burst because of poor tactics.

This is the most aggressive and physically fit he's looked

Facts of life David

Hes not.

He said: “It’s a great honour to sign my first contract, especially with Everton , a club that means so much to me."

Are you sure ? Cause before he broke into our first team several people in this forum said he was a Liverpool fan and were certain about it.

I'll never forget the time last year when he sent his chicken back in the restaurant I work in because he wanted it cut up for him lol such a little thing changed my opinion on him massively. Thinks he's something he's not.

I view that the same way as his Barkley comments- blunt honesty when asked a question.

He has no reason not to refer to a club he played for and whose fans still idolise him.

That blunt honesty for me shows basically how naive either he or the Everton press office are. RK by design or default has shown all his and indeed the clubs cards and whilst it's sounds bold to say if he doesn't sign he will be sold and yes quite a few have lapped it up as Dave K says what now ?

If he doesn't sign the new deal he has to be sold or the club comes over as laughing stock. The smart move would have been to play a straight bat nothing will have been achieved by making public threats.

Ross will have known what the clubs views were as will his agent and indeed other clubs. If Ross has a preferred destination and that club will know where they stand why would they go in big?If any other clubs come in and offer more and Ross doesn't fancy that gig he can say no thanks. What are Everton going to do then?

A voice of reasoned calm in a sea of chagrin ;)

I think the reason Koeman has been so blunt is because the club knows who Ross has been negotiating with while still contracted to us.

If this is the case then he deserves to be publicly called out rather than leave the club to face 'sell to buy' criticism after the event.

Not at all, but hes from a family of Evertonians, so it would shock me if he wasnt a blue.

People on the forum have a habit of bending the truth.
