2025/26 Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall

The only reason you move this guy back is if he's trying to find a bit of form, in an effort to get him more touches and time on the ball to sort himself out. Belongs slap-bang in middle, not forward, not back...he'll naturally be in those areas depending on how the collective around him are doing.

So here's the question, David...what/how do you compliment that? 🤔 I suppose that's down to the overall plan but I just say you find his twin or as close as you can get.

Onwards, Everton.

He's doing a decent job as a number 10, but he's blatantly a number 8 in a 433.

He loves that inside left channel.

The trick will be to get the right balance in midfield to allow us to play that. Jimmy Garner certainly has the legs to be the other number 8, but he's also shown he could possibly be a number 6 this season too. It's a question of who the other one is to get the most out of KDH - he could easily get double figures from midfield in a team that created a bit more.

instantly elevated the team

play him deeper, get grealish back in at 10, george on the left, ndiaye on the right, a proper striker and two proper full backs, may as well put our name on next years league title now
I don’t understand why people keep doing this Grealish as a 10 deal. He’s not going to do that.

In this system he’s also supposed to be the one creating though. A bit of a double edged sword.

Have we ever played 433 in our entire history?

I still think Alcaraz is our best 10

But I’d also be keen to Garner at 6 with KDH and Iroegbunam as a midfield pairing

But the midfield options will not change now till end of season barring injury so it is pointless speculating

I don't think we play with a so called 'Number 10' - Its just a 433 - With KDH the central midfielder with more freedom to move forward.
It’s less of a rigid 4-4-1-1 than in prior Moyes teams but I’d say KDH is still clearly a more advanced player than whoever the other two midfielders are. We’ve done a good job this season of allowing one, usually Gana, to get further up.

Think it'll come down to who can get the most out of Armstrong...I hope Harrison's got enough about him for the answer to be himself. I ain't forgot about you kid, come on now.

I don't know why people are saying that KDH needs pushing back to an 8 from a 10.

Switches between both in games and looks to have the freedom to play where he wants, mainly box to box in that inside left channel.

Occasionally plays as a second striker in a 4-4-2 off the ball when we want to press high... But other than that he looks to have a degree of positional freedom. People are getting het up about the numbers imo

Isn't he playing that position already?

Just because they put him as a ten in the pre match line up doesn't mean that's where he's playing. Most of the time is playing as an advanced 8 in that inside left channel which is - dundundun - where you want to move him to?
