I totally disagree that he gives us something we don't have, but the practice of sending good players out on loan shouldn't be an issue. Half the U20 lineup is out on loan. Woodman was, now playing PL2, Tomori is on loan at Hull from Chelsea, Clarke-Salter is on loan at Sunderland from Chelsea, Onomoah on loan to Villa from Spurs, Ojo is at Fulham via LFC, Maitland-Niles was on loan at Ipswitch from Arsenal, etc.

The best players on the team do get some run in the PL. Cook plays a lot for Bournemouth, Lookman for us (should play more), Solanke for LFC, JonJoe for us (due to injury), DCL (out of necessity), but few are getting full time.

So I'm not sure what position we are in, but JonJoe and DCL play because we can use them and no one is in front of them. I'm sorry, but Dowell is not in the same league as Rooney, Siggy, and frankly, Lookman, Vlasic, and Davies.

I agree. He's in a league above all those you name there apart from Rooney.
