How far behind dowell do you think Evans is will he be ready for minutes in the premier league by the end of next season

This time last year Evans was quite close to Dowell. I think over the last 12 months though Dowell has really kicked on while Evans has probably stalled a bit. I would be surprised if Evans was ready for minutes at the end of the next season but a lot will depend on his progress. You are probably looking at the following season for him.

Evans is a 1st year scholar so has been the youngest "regular" in the U21s this season, I think these Scholar years are an important factor with their full time training, though they are on a good training programme before they join. So he's a scholar year behind Davies/Dowell, despite being in England u18 with Davies. Like Dowell he's got a wee bit of filling out to do yet and that , at 17, might take a couple of years. When Martinez made his Golden Generation statement I had 7 in mind, 4 have had PL exposure , 3 to come Ledson , Walsh and Evans . He had a great pre season with the U21s scoring goals for fun , but he's got a lot more developing to do so I don't think he's anywhere near competing for a PL squad place next season, it really depends on loan deals, injuries end of season games .... new manager, whether his opportunity arises. It'll be interesting too how he plays for England u18s, not conclusive of course but if you're seen to be playing above the standard of other age group internationals it a good pointer to our manager e.g. Davies captaining this level.
Thanks as always very informative & depth of knowledge first class

Obviously a great left foot, but the awareness to pick out some of those chips from range is more impressive. Excited to see him around the team next season!

He has to come more into the first team in the next season, will have Jose peeing in his pants when he scores a hat trick against Man U.

fine collection of goals there ... when he beefs up within the next few years if he's injury / mentality strong .. we could have the next lampard

I thought they might have tied him down for a longer period.
He is a premiership player already and will continue to improve.
