Kevin Mirallas

How does this relate to my post? Mirallas is a good player but he's not consistent, he is made out to be the messiah by some despite his ability to go missing quite often. Allt hree of those players mentioned have the exact same flaw, they all go missing, just Lennon still puts the effort in.

Niasse. Lol.

If he was "consistent" and brilliant all the time he'd be one of the best players in the world and wouldn't be at Everton. He's a match winner on his day, The Clev isn't, and he had the left wing spot nailed down under our previous fraud of a manager

At this point in his career, for me Del is a guy you bring on when chasing a goal at the hour mark. Can change a game in a half hour. As a pure attacking threat, he is our best "instant offense" type of guy

Mirallas should have been playing more all season. I'd love to have him stick around for next year with a new manager and see what he can do

Del reminds me of a young Ronaldo at United. When he first went there he'd give the ball away a lot and wasn't always productive but Ferguson stuck with him and one season it clicked for him.

I think Del just needs as much game time as he can get, he'll develop far quicker with it and even though he does have bad games he still produces more than our other players. Coleman often pushes up and he's good at doing his runs but his crossing is awful. It'd make more sense to tell Coleman to cover Del more or use a more defensive minded fullback to get the best out of Del.

Some people see Del as a luxury player, I'd agree if he wasn't productive but he is, so to me you accomodate him in the system and let his game develop. RM stopped playing the likes of Del, Mirallas and Kone in the second half of the season and we didn't score as many goals, while still conceding, resulting in us losing games. I think we should employ a system to get the most out of our gifted players and Del is a great player.

I agree about Mirallas, although I can see why RM didn't like him. He lacks discipline and he has gone missing in some games. I think Mirallas needs a strong manager who knows how to give him a kick when he starts messing around. Mirallas does need to sort his temperament though. I don't care how talented any player is, when they're on the kind of money they are you don't get yourself sent off stupidly and let both the team and the fans down.

Kind of disagree with the first bit, Deulofeu played his best football when given a run of starts from October-December this season. Then he shot from outside the box in training once and our former manager banished him to Siberia for 3 months

Top quality, i have no problems keeping top quality players if a new manager shows him some love, i think we could get a big season from Mirallas, he should be getting double figures for goals and assists every season.

The figures don't back you up. You can argue that if he was played more often he would have improved his consistency and he is a good player but he hasn't been as productive as usual this season.

I don't know where that graph's from, or what the criteria is, but it doesn't really matter anyway, I don't need figures. I see what's happening on the pitch. The figures don't show how many opportunities have been wasted by them, and I'll wager Mirallas doesn't lose possession as often as any of the others.

And I don't see the commitment or work ethic from the likes of Barkley & Deulofeu that I do from Mirallas (or Lennon for that matter) But if you want to go on figures, then go on the figures throughout their respective Everton careers, not on the one season.

As for kone, well he can't even make a 5yd pass half the bleedin' time.

Could tell he was really trying hard yesterday and putting a lot of effort in.

So why wasn't he doing that previously regardless of it he liked the manager or not?

That's my issue right there, a few others too.

I think you have a good point but if we start binning off anyone who didn't give it 100% under Martinez recently we'd be left with just Barry, Joel and the kit man.

It's really hard to put that sort of effort in when you're either not in the squad, or sat on the bench, or brought on for five minutes at the end........

Or the team is woefully set up so you're not playing to your strengths, other players are occupying the same space as you, or you're frozen out of the game because the opposition manager has blocked off any route for the ball. Martinez tactics did the same to Delboy, once the opposition had sussed out how Martinez was going to set up, they simply set up to stop it and El Fraudo had no plan B or in game management.

I agree, but it's part of the managers job to be able to motivate and inspire his players. Bobby failed at that this year. The players failed as well but under a different boss, who knows?

Nah man. He was running round like a man possessed. He hasn't done that all season and has been given a few chances to do so Maddo lid.

He's playing for and paid by Everton. It saddens me that they don't think that effort is a bare minimum.

I love how Mirallas still loves the club and the fans even after such a crap year where he hardly played and missed out on the euros. It's like he's in it with the fans and he's just as happy to have finally got Martinez out of his club.

Martinez always favoured playing lopsided flanks. It's why Barkley would have issues, Naismith would occupy the same space. When he'd play Kev, he'd employ the same tactics and essentially we'd have no width on the left. Eventually opposition managers sussed out what was happening, and Deboy was nullified for the rest of the season.

But he can't go a full 90, we can all agree on this. Whether he plays the first 60, or last 30, whichever one we need for a given match, is what he should play. Perhaps a new manager would get his conditioning up to speed.

I think if he played under a manager that coached fitness, he'd be able to play a full 90. Under our former manager, no players looked like they could last a full match apart from the goalkeeper
