Kevin Mirallas

He's an individual in a team game. I cant abide that. Messi is the best in the world. Most obvious example of a team player there is too.

From his wiki:
Mirallas scored and assisted a goal during a 3–3 draw in the first Merseyside derby of the 2013–14 season on 23 November.[19] He also received a booking for a high challenge on Luis Suárez which opposing manager Brendan Rodgers described as reckless and insisted Mirallas was lucky to remain on the pitch.[20] He went on to score eight goals in the season, before it was ended in April due to a groin injury.[21] Mirallas created 61 chances for his teammates during the season, the most of any Everton player.

Hardly sounds like he's not a team player.

It's clear him and Martinez clashed and possibly caused him to throw his dummy ouy a little and get frustrated, but this season, he's working hard for the team and doing well. Let's hope he keeps this up, as when he's on form, he's one of our best players.

An in form Mirallas would get in every Evertonians first 11 every single time.

61 chances?! The vast majority of those so called chances will be after he's had a dig from outside or the edge of the box and then the ball has been blocked/saved and fallen at the feet of another Everton player.

Not just Martinez though is it? Moyes fell out with him too, and he also fell out with Wilmots at Belgium...Koeman will tire of him eventually.

I don't think Moyes or Wilmots fell out with him tbh. He would have been in the Belgium squad if El Fraudo had actually selected him on any kind of regular basis.

I dont hate him at all. I just see that he's a waster.
Never said you did hate him mate. I was referring to me.

Probably overegged it a bit if I'm honest, but he does annoy me intensely at times when he has his little spats.

Loving his attitude at the moment though. I just know it's not going to last.

Sorry mate, misread it.

we'll see.

I never saw any problems between him and Moyes and there was never a hint of any issues with any previous managers until the penalty incident vs WBA - that's when Martinez and him seemed to fall out.

Didn't like his attitude at times last year but since Koeman came in he seems revitalised and getting back to near his best. Long may it continue.

I really hope you're right mate and I'm wrong. As I said, I love the guy when he's got his right head on. One of our best players. I remember that dreadful Wigan quarter final when he was lambasting Fellaini. And the tackle on Saurez, retribution for the previous year when he was put out of action for a couple of months. We need players like that.

I just expect him to chuck his dummy out again sometime. It's in his make-up.

I think the point is that with his talent, the standard should be doing it consistently over a season rather then in flashes, I think that should be the standard his talent should be judged on.

I'm a huge fan of his and I, probably being harsh on him here because he is that good, it's the delivering and fulfilling of his talent consistently that frustrates me.

He's more then good enough to be in that Belguim team, he didn't even make the squad in the Euros, so I think it's a fair point that his application needs to be looked at.

I hope he proves this post wrong.

We've seen Kev time and again cut in from the left and drive to the center just outside the box and have a dig. If this causes the ball to break free in the box and leads to a chance for Rom or whoever isn't this a good thing? Should he have just passed it sideways or backwards patiently like Roberto instructed or should he try and make something happen? I know what I'd prefer every time, by dismissing the way he created 61 chances for his teammates you're basically saying some chances hold more weight that others which really if they're all scoreable they don't. If we win every game for the rest of the season due to converting goalmouth scrambles from Kev potshots we'll all be equally happy as if they were all from tippy tappy goals.

It isn't saying that at all. I was responding to a post that took issue with my saying he's not a team player (ie he's selfish). The respondent stated that he created 61 chances which 'disproves' my assertion. So my saying most of them will be as a result of him taking speculative shots is to be seen in that context...the bulk wouldn't have been as part of a team move resulting in him feeding a direct ball through to a better placed team mate, they'd have been him doing his own thing.

Let's not beat about the bush here: Mirallas has been here for 4 years, we know he's an individual who reluctantly gets involved in moves. He prefers to put faith in his own ability and not the ability of others.

Maybe he's as individual as you can get in a team game but it's that sort of unpredictability that can win games. Sulky sod but also one of our best, when in form he starts, simple as that.

But could easily be dragged off after 25mins

I always get the feeling you know waht you are going to get from him in the early stages of the game.

When he is good he is good, when he isn't he is just a passenger.....
