Foley sale could mean windfall - Dunstable Today

A welcome cash boost could be heading Luton Town's way if Kevin Foley's mooted £2.5million move from Wolverhampton Wanderers to Premiership Everton goes ahead.

Tabloid speculation at the weekend linked the Republic of Ireland B international with a transfer to Goodison Park and also claimed that West Ham and Blackburn are interested in the 24-year-old's signature.

And Luton director Antony Brown revealed that the Hatters could be in line for a six-figure sum if the move ever comes to fruition.

He said: "There is a sell-on. Obviously we always keep an eye on ex-players, especially those who have come through the youth system, and if there's a financial benefit to us it's even more rewarding.

"It's certainly no surprise to people at the club that he is being touted to a club like Everton.

"The only surprise to me is Manchester United haven't bought him.
"I think he is the most natural replacement for Gary Neville in the game today.

"Kevin is a player we've got a huge amount of admiration for.

"He is one of my favourite players from the last decade."

Really cant see it myself. Another right back? Sounds like they are trying to instigate a transfer.

My mate is a big Wolves fan and he's always raving about Foley every monday at college. He told me that the rumour around the ground on sunday against Cardiff, was that Foley was linked with Everton.
I laughed it off and thought nothing of it. Maybe....just maybe...

The player is good. The rumour may stand up, yet I can find nothing other to substantiate it.

I personally do not think Wolves will sell to us for a fair price. I have given this reason before about e-banks Blake.

Wolves is owned by Steve Morgan. This is the fella that tried to buy the RS before the yanks stepped in to improve things. Morgan is a die hard RS. He would never sell anyone to us for anywhere near a fair price.

Be nice to pull another Lescott out of the hat. It would appear that Jacobsen won't be around next season.

Not going to happen My mate. Being a genius only occurs for a short while. Now the market knows, that, if Moyes looks into someone from lower leagues, they automatically stick at least 3 mill onto the price.

The Theory being "If Moyes is interested, then he must be worth more"

The only drawback for having a Gaffer like ours, is you have to pay the price.

Moyes is the New Wenger

Even if Jacobsen moves on, why another right back?

Hibbert and Neville first choice, if both of them are injured then someone like Jags can fill in. I doubt Coleman is good enough to act as a serious option just yet, but we never know what will happen in the future, so you can count him aswell.
