Kenwright transfers shareholding

"dividend in specie" I still want to know what that is and how would it reflect in Everton's accounts

Kind of like "amortisation of contracts" 6.9 million

(you see we're THAT obsessed about Everton we have little details like that committed to memory!)

Its nothing to do with Everton really - its just were Kenwright holds his shares and structures his liabilites if everything went pear shaped. His Everton shareholding is held under Bill Kenwright LTD now with this, dont know were he held it before that since TBH was disolved in the early 2000's - its bascily a bit of a tax dodge as Mutzo was saying. Earl i think holds his shareholding somewhere of shore in the Caeman islands or something.

It's a de-merger allright in this case a direct de-merger but what reason I'm not sure at this stage, however by issuing a dividend in specie old Bill can expect relief on Capital Gains Tax. Something that he would'nt get if someone bought his shares outright and he had to pay the full Shareholders CGT rate!!!

This is getting interesting...just think (hypothetically) that someone bought out Bills shares, what would he do with that money?...he'd invest it in his theatrical company but he would be liable to a full CGT. However by issuing a dividend in specie he has effectively moved his share capital from one entity to another with relief on CGT!!

The plot thickens

Are you suggesting his new vehicle makes it less not more likely he'd sell his shares in Everton? I knew it. Keep digging mate.

He'll be carried out of Goodison in a box this feller. 24/7 my arse.

Oh and that flop you mention, directed by Stephen Frears who had a fairly good track record of film making:
Date Film Revenue Cinema Numbers.
9/30/06 The Queen Mira. $56,441,711 1,850
3/31/00 High Fidelity BV $27,287,137 1,231
12/23/88 Dangerous Liaisons WB $34,670,720 762

It appears Bill's film wasn't helped by distribution issues (only 191 cinemas).

Oh well. Thats film making.

As long as it doesn't affect Everton.

It's also about choosing the story though isn't it? Hurt Locker: $11M budget; critically acclaimed, laden with awards and on the way to trebling it's cost in takings in the US alone.

Bill chooses sentimental trash and they flop. There's the backstory.

Now your asking the right questions mate! Took a few posts but your getting there!(y)

So are you having that too? Are you wondering why Bill takes a punt of £16M on a schmaltzy flick rather than buying Moyesie a [Poor language removed] off a shovel winger and new forward?

Is the guy really being panned for artistic temperament now? What next which shoelace he ties first? Oh, and I don't reckon he stumped up every penny of the film budget single handed. But such glaring obviouses are so blatant they can be ignored right?!

So which assets benefit from this demerge? Everton or his theater?

Neither...only one winner....Mr 24/7! He's effectively shifted financial assets from one Company to his other company that needs some financial input, with minimum tax liability - Sneaky fecker

As I told you all months ago this is the first step in the sale of your club

I'm not complaining, but I did post on this site ages ago and was deleted. I said then that a music producer in SoHo was busy telling people he knew your chairman was selling Everton. I'm a Chelsea Blue and spiritofdixie relates to Kerry Dixon. As I'm not an Everton fan I forgot about your own Dixie so was ridiculed when I posted. But I am telling anyone who wants to listen; your chairman is selling the club and this financial move is no more than allowing him the right to do so free of his other business. Personally, I think it's a shame. He's a good chairman. :)

I take your point, but I'm assuming that he's heading up the investment in his own company. I cant see investors placing much faith in a project a man with his name on the door wont put coin down for.

It goes back to priorities.

Can you name me one top flight chairman who's sole priority is his/her football club?
