I missed the point?
Nah mate, you are the one who said there were "plenty of Blues celebrating the semi loss to Chelsea" last year.
Blindingly missing the point that what they were actually doing was noting the achievment of reaching a first Semi under Moyes while adding that to steady improvement in the league and solidation of EFC as a top 6 club.
Compared to that of a bottom half relegation fighting club we were just a few short seasons before.
I don't know what universe you live in but in this one no football club has ever won anything overnight. No football club has ever gone from fighting relegation to winning the league overnight.
Its a gradual process that will take time.
You me and every other Everton fan i'm sure wants us to be the best club in the land. But that will not happen over night. Its will happen over time (if at all) but its a slow process.
And reaching cup Semi finals is a mark of that progress. Its the act of making the semi which is to be celebrated as part of an overall improvement not a single act which involves losing it.
Quite easy to see that if you just want to look.
You called it celebrating a loss. It was nothing of the sort. Its a balancing act between your hopes and aspirations for what you want your football club to be and the harsh reality of what they can actually achieve given the situation they find themselves in.

Nobody is expecting us to win the league championship...yet.
Its about satisfaction. Some of our fans seem to be ecstatic about the fact that we are losing semi finals.
These are the same fans who go mental when fat ****s like the fat spanish waiter call us a small club.
What pisses me off is that our success always seems to be compared to 1994 or 1998 and we are told that this was "just a few short seasons ago".
Yet 1987 was just 8 seasons previous to 1994.
Im sick and tired of 'not being absolute ****e' being viewed as a marker of success. Especially when it has become abundantly clear that we would be in the champions league if we had even the most remote amount of investment.
Im sorry, but I dont class losing semi finals as success.
Well Im glad that we agree that losing a semi final is not success.
I agree that we should be looking at the big picture, which is why constant references to 1998 piss me off.
1998 was over 10 years ago, its about time we got over that ****e.
Im sorry to repeat myself, and this will be my last post on this particular subject, but it is ABUNDANTLY CLEAR that if we had even the most remotest amount of investment we would be playing champions league football.
Yet despite this, there are thousands of evertonians who celebrate mediocraty just because they see it as a better than 1998.
see animal farm......../\ /\ /\ /\ /\ /\ /\ what he said!
there is also a difference between celebrating when you get knocked out and thinking sod it lets get pissed, which is also what most people did.
Im getting Kenwright on the back of my new le couqe sportif kit!
*waits for the enivitable!
he being the one with breasts and a lingerie drawer.
*thats death not azul.
