exactly. He reports what he's told and 9 time out of 10 he's told things for a purpose - agents trying to get improved terms or to get some traction on a player, even clubs use him. You also need to keep in mind that by the time he's actually tweeted something the situation has probably already changed, and he'll drip feed that that stuff out there and try and drag it out as long as possible to get the most traction from it.

Not going to lose sleep over this over this one, Fulham was always going to offer a improved contract as they want to keep the player. Fulham are at their ceiling now and that the best they can hope for- not a criticism just is the reality. I'm hoping TFG have loftier aspirations that mid table. If he wants to stay at Fulham just shows what his hunger level is.

Bobble and Joyce were more cautious in how they reported it and indicated we had offered a deal. Romano reported more or less that it was a done deal.

I assume Mike is referring to the fact that Romano claimed it was a 'done deal' while the others reported that we were close to an agreement. There's obviously a pretty big difference between the two.

But he didnt claim it was done. He even says in his post that theres still more work to be done this week on the deal.

All he said was we reached a verbal agreement. He even said "here we go, soon" meaning that the deal was close but wasnt done yet.

If people have miss read what he posted and thought it was a done deal. Then thats down to them not reading the post properly.

He still went further than the others though. The bobble only said we'd offered a contract, not that he'd agreed it. Boyland the same, Joyce said we were advancing in talks. We don't know whether it's true that there was a verbal agreement in place, but it's not particularly difficult to see why people might think he jumped the gun I don't think.
