I have no idea if this is true, I have my suspicions like, but, its from a translation so could the whole "end of 2013" thing, not be the end of the 2012/13 season?

Would you consider this season to be the 2012 season or the 2013? Would next year be the 2014 season? I'm just guessing like.........

The Russian League starts in July and ends in May with a 3 month winter break, so this is the 12/13 season for them too. Thing is, all their contracts end on December 31, so if we are going to sign him on a free transfer, we can't start negotiating before June 30, and he can't join us before the next January window.

This being said, with only 6 months left of his contract he won't cost a lot, and we could easily chip in a bid for him to get him in the summer if we wanted to.
