those wages in a lot of cases don't reflect the wages on offer in this region.

also it highlights the gulf between 'management/supervisors/staff' and the blue collars. whilst the former enjoy salaries that can afford them many luxuries, the latter will be getting a wage that will see them struggle and rely on the government giving them tax credits.

also those in gov. depts. have higher wages with a pension at the end of it thats higher than a lot of peoples wage whilst working.
