shearer must be dreading the call that will eventually come, i reckon he's giving it the swerve, if he has any thoughts of a career in management then he wont want to take on a jinxed job such as this 1st and thus end a career before it got going.

According to the bar codes I know its his destiny to lead them to the promised land(I think the mean champion league but it will be the championship)

Being far away from Liverpool, I can't really measure up how big Everton is, in terms of fan base.

Throughout my life, I've always heard that the big four were Liverpool, Everton, Arsenal, Spurs.

How is that you rate a club greatness? Do you rate them because of circumstacial success or based on fan base?

i personally dont care.we won nothing..shame the most corrupt league in the world as come down to wow we won the league in 5th because we arent good enough to finish in the top 4..its depressing. Success is now measured in finishing 5th..how [Poor language removed] lame.

you measure them on both fanbase and by what you have won (outisde the fact only the arse and everton and villa are the oldest clubs in the land still in the prem, and only the arse and everton havent been relegated the longest)

which would put everton well outside that top 4, prolly around 7 or 8th over the years..including old first div.

as for evertons fanbase, its ageing, and we arent really getting more fans (except gloryhunters when you win something, which has elluded us), moving away from the city will be the final nail.

So we'd be a dying club?

It's really sad because if we look for some of greatest [Poor language removed] players they used to support Everton (Rush, Owen, Fowler, Gerrard, McManaman, etc.). That shows that we used to have an outstanding fan base. By the way another sad fact, some of our childhood supporters have become our rivals simbols. Ironic isn't it?

How come could that happen? Does our youth program fall behind the shites'?

Money talks and Bulls&*#t walks my friend.

Our youth setup in the eighties and nineties was a complete disater, seems like we released/failed to capture alot of talent.

Safe to say I think weve lost our last Rooney, with the youth setup now but you never know.
