Apology accepted mate.

I'm not being negative, i'm being realistic. We can't go every season not spending money when teams like Stoke, Birmingham and the sort are outspending us. We will get left behind. That is the nature of football now

Valid points, Cena. You can ignore them, but our problems are mounting. Perhaps it will all work out, but when the past is long gone and the present's not going very well, if the future doesn't look bright then you've a right to express concern.

I know , I can see it .I think we all do.But I happen to believe it´s not totally fkd yet .But we could discuss it and start again.Alls I´m saying is it does not have to dominate every thread.

Show me the contrast. Threads made . Negativety takes over.Weres the contrast ?

Maybe you should stop categorising everything that isn't pure positivity, as negativity. Sometimes facts are just facts; people expressing concern. This is a public forum, and people have a right to express their concerns, as well as their elation.

This thread is, like another poster suggested, tantamount to Neville's pep rallies. We all know our history mate, and some of us are fed up of having only that to cling onto. Negatitivty, positivity, whatever, it's a valid response. Perhaps not yours, but valid nonetheless.

Maybe mate, but it is VERY worrying for a lot of Blues at the minute, maybe that is why it is mentioned so much

Being a foreign Everton fan who is not able to live the "blue" life day in, and day out, I rely heavily on sound people like most on this forum to artificially inject the spirit into my veins.

When I first realized how great of a sport soccer is (5 years ago) I had a lot of learning to do.. I didn't just claim to like soccer, I really got involved with research and the like.. I eventually found out about the premier league and realized this was the league I should be watching.
Then I needed a team! I wikied all the top flight teams and even the teams in the championship to see if I can get an idea of their history and fanbase..

My results were scary now when I think of it.. I chose Newcastle, Leeds, and Everton.. Based on a mix of history/ Fans..
The deciding factor was Tim Howard, I thought.

But, it wasn't until I really started delving into Everton football club when I realized there was much much more..
Tim Howard could leave tomorrow and it would mean nothing to me!! (I would wonder who we could get to replace him, mind)

My point is.. The history, and the fans are what I hold on too.. It's the reason I'm here..

To think I could be on a newcastle forum is a dreadful thought.

Anyways, keep these threads coming is what I'm trying to say I guess.

And the good thing about our fans is they're down to earth, don't do blind worship of anyone in a position of authority at the club (classic ********/geordie behaviour), don't buy into the sky corporate soccer am ethos, and will pick out a bull****ter a mile away (Mr W Kenwright esq). You chose well.

Agree with all this mate. We can be positive despite our financial restraints. In my opinion, we look better and play better against the teams at the higher end of the table as their instinct to push forward leaves more gaps for us to knock the ball around and create chances. We can't (or haven't been) unlocking the teams who are prepared to park the bus and SCRAP man 4 man for 90 mins. These are the games when we need that bit of magic from 30 yards that Billy can provide. That would be the difference for me. Pleased that there is a growing call for Billy to get some time on the pitch. He seemed to "want" the ball more the last couple of games. Good shout about the FA cup too. If Saha is still here for Chelsea next round, we may have a bloody good chance. Terry can't seem to handle him.

Its a choice each Evertonian has to make as it should be in the case of what you beleive is happening at the club, ive been very much pro board over the years - for reasons i bang on about all the time. Im concerned presently unless the outgoings are met with replacenents at the very least of potential and the incomings strengthen our position in a footballing sense, i may have another think.

To be honest i wont jump the gun here, but im a little concerned the club have overshot on the budget this year, on current evidance, there will be incomings but the approiteness of replacements in terms of quality or potential will tell us a lot about whats going on.

I wouldnt cast an opinion either pro or neg untill the end of he window and untill the financial accounts are released, anyone who does isnt speaking in full pocession of the facts.

I think it's less over shooting on budget.... more about ultra conservatism faced by the UEFA Financial Fair Play regulations, in relation to the budget.

Remember - there is a three year phase in starting this year. Club's trends are taken into account going into 2014... so they are looking at least two years ahead. All clubs have to now and going forward three years!

But I'm much like you Neiler we have similar views on Aston Villa's finances. And Birmingham (who incidentally pulled out of signing Robbie Keane for those reasons).

As things stand mate i am a little concerned, the club not releaseing their accounts is doing nothing to ease my anxeity. Granted im doing these sums in my head but i think we have increased our wage bill substantialy maybe as much as 10%, added to that, a lower rate of prem prize money, no FA CUP run last year (previous year 10 mill), less games shown on TV and i expect we are probably operating a signifcant loss this year. That said there are unknowns that could temper that - Lescott deal should come to light, New overseas PL deal, Kitbag deal and a few other commercial innitives we will begin to see the detail of in the new set of accounts.

The signs dont bode well though, Yak, Yobo and possibly Vaughan now out on loan, selling Pienaar looks to me as if the club are trying to cut the wage bill signifcantly perhaps after biteing of more then can manage in keeping the jewls of Rodwell, Jags, Baines and Arteta - extra millions involved in those deal and deals for other squad memebrs. That said im trying not to jump to any conclusions untill the end of January and we see what we get. But the figures in my head dont bode well at present, but then im just guessing. Whats beginging to worry me is the systematic loss of players with little resistance, when we could have gotten more for Yak and Vaughan and even Pienaar in the summer, just has me anxious, nut we will wait and see what if any come in. With a lower turnover and higher cost base we will be opperating at more of a loss and presently im concerned that is impacting on the players we are looseing.

Could be wrong about all this like - hope so!

If the fiscal year coincides with the calendar year, there's NO WAY the annual report would be ready in the middle of January. I'd give it until mid feb or later.

Rest of the post is pretty accurate from where I sit.
