If the fiscal year coincides with the calendar year, there's NO WAY the annual report would be ready in the middle of January. I'd give it until mid feb or later.

Rest of the post is pretty accurate from where I sit.

Usually early Dec mate, or has been for a number of years, granted i dont know the rules on such things though!

I'm not an accountant. The lad here however explained it better than I. However, I do read many companies regularly and working in various types of businesses I look not just at the accounts, regulations, licencing, IP, tv revenues, revenues, the economy, politics the lot. Then put it all together - looking FORWARDS.

But anyway let the accountants speak:

That's not quite right. Providing the accounts aren't late, they can extend the period end by up to 6 months once every five years, allowing for a change in reporting years in the future. And then the filing deadline becomes 9 months later than the new year end. (They can actually write to the secretary of state for further period end alterations, but that's unlikely)
So this means that they'd have to submit (up to) an 18 month set of accounts, with a November period end and therefore a filing deadline of 31st August.

However they haven't submitted a change of accounting period form yet, so that means they have until the 28th of Feb to submit the accounts on time or receive a £150 fine. Assuming they deliver them on the very last day possible and they are only lodged at Companies House on the 28th, they don't become available for download for a couple of days, so it will be about the 2nd of March before you can download a set from Companies House, which I will be doing, for the princely sum of £1 and I will happily pass them on.

I should also like to mention that an extension to the filing deadline is available under certain circumstances, such as grave illness or death of a director, so can anyone planning on filling in or offing Bill Kenwright please hold off until the 1st March? Thanks

£150 fine for late accounts, its a bit of farce really isnt it!

Actually im sure we would rather not pay the £150!

As things stand mate i am a little concerned, the club not releaseing their accounts is doing nothing to ease my anxeity. Granted im doing these sums in my head but i think we have increased our wage bill substantialy maybe as much as 10%, added to that, a lower rate of prem prize money, no FA CUP run last year (previous year 10 mill), less games shown on TV and i expect we are probably operating a signifcant loss this year. That said there are unknowns that could temper that - Lescott deal should come to light, New overseas PL deal, Kitbag deal and a few other commercial innitives we will begin to see the detail of in the new set of accounts.

The signs dont bode well though, Yak, Yobo and possibly Vaughan now out on loan, selling Pienaar looks to me as if the club are trying to cut the wage bill signifcantly perhaps after biteing of more then can manage in keeping the jewls of Rodwell, Jags, Baines and Arteta - extra millions involved in those deal and deals for other squad memebrs. That said im trying not to jump to any conclusions untill the end of January and we see what we get. But the figures in my head dont bode well at present, but then im just guessing. Whats beginging to worry me is the systematic loss of players with little resistance, when we could have gotten more for Yak and Vaughan and even Pienaar in the summer, just has me anxious, nut we will wait and see what if any come in. With a lower turnover and higher cost base we will be opperating at more of a loss and presently im concerned that is impacting on the players we are looseing.

Could be wrong about all this like - hope so!

I hear what you're saying. Agree the 10% is feasible - that's the average increase in players wages in Europe this year.

However, that's as you say tempered by other things. Plus this is the first time that Kitbag's influence will be felt in the accounts.

Plus there is the Bellefield and new Building developments that might be hampering the account's publications as - they might be disagreeing on quantifying some of these things in the accounts.

So I think you're on the jittery side.

Plus... all club's must have an action plan in operation to make them comply with the new incoming financial regulations. Ignore Scudamore. Imagine Everton qualify for europe but can't compete! Imagine the Kenwronging then.

So like I say... wait and see.

It will be intresting, im not hopefull if im honest based on the summer and this window and just my own projections in terms of transfer fees, i just hope its not as bad as i think or im utterly wrong. If we break even it will be like winning the lottery.

Didnt really factor in Bellefeild as i presume it could take a year maybe two to process.

You're just a bad ted. Why are you even commenting in this thread?

If you're finding an excuse to MOAN about our history then you need serious help lad.
If you've inferred that anyone is moaning about our history then you need serious help.

They're moaning about the present and the future

Infact don't that was about 4 hours ago now. You just arrived late and thought you could get involved.

I'm in late, and read the comments here, and some good points raised. It's nice to see how successfull we have been in the past.
There is a lot of worry around at the moment on here from people I associate with being positive posters, which worries me a great deal to be honest. I hope that is just because we are having a bad run, and we will bounce back after a couple of wins as Chico says.
The moral is down, and to be fair it doesn't matter if you're living in Toxteth or New Zealand, there's not a lot any of us can do about it untill the club starts performing again.

Always thought it was Dec mtself mate, but open to correction!

I checked 2008 and it was in early Dec., so you were half right. But last year's was Feb. 10. As Matty pointed out, lots of complicated things in the hopper this year. I just don't see how you can put out a financial statement for 2010 before the year is up though.

Read through the whole thread post by post mate. No-body moaned about our history. Nobody was finding an excuse to moan about our history. As Tubey so eloquently explained to you, some people may just find a list of our 'firsts' a bit patronising or even cringeworthy (see reference to kopites) in the light of current frustrations. Others love it and will find it informative. Personally think both views and the original post are perfectly valid. Also thought you were out of line with calling a poster who dares to express his concerns, a ted. But what do I know. I arrived late
