It's all about opinion.
Just don't let the fact that i'm right cloud your judgement.
Vic every time for me like

I don't understand how people can't rate Vellios.

He's had about 14 minutes of football. He's 20. He's scored some cracking goals in his short time and also if you watch him, for such a big guy, he's got very good feet. Mad skillz too (in pre-match warm ups, like). Actually I think one of the players mentioned him in one of those OS webchats when asked who our skilful players are.

Vellios is the epitome of a promising young player. He's not perfect but he's shown enough potential and quality to suggest he could be a very good CF. Anichebe did the same things 5 years ago but eventually potential has to turn into ability. Vic had a good season for me last year and I don't understand how his 6 goals in hardly any minutes hasn't helped his cause with blues. But no question Vellios is the one I'd rather have, because he'd have to develop like a Benjamin Button for him to not be better than Vic when he's 24.

Vellios scored 3 goals for us at 20, Anichebe scored 6 at 24. If we're hoping one of those players will improve massively next year, I'd bet on the greek.

Anichebe was far better at the same age mate. It could be that Anichebe won't ever be what he should have or it could be that he's been hampered terribly by injuries. He looked better when he came back last season.

He's not exactly been very good for the reserves mate. He took his goals well when he came on last year but the rest of his game was very inconsistent.

Don't get me wrong i think Vellios has every chance of making it.
Just that right now vic is the better option

Everybody was ****e that night, why pick on vic.
Bit of an agenda against him on here from some peeps
Far too much ****e written about him.

Everyone was **** against Fulham and we're using that to pick on Vellios, hence my using an example of a game Vic started last year and was **** to prove how everyone has bad games. I could pick two games when baines and Fellaini were awful, too.

You can't right Vellios off based on two starts, you just can't.

How many times did he start mate? Go on tell me, even you can count that high. x

Seriously though as I said to Goat context is very relevant. Vellios' starts were alongside Cahill and he had no support and was forced to feed off scraps. He's not Zlatan, he's not going to be able to shine like that. And the same goes for Anichebe too. Jelavic never had to play in those circumstances, he got Pienaar linking our play not Jagielka's shins. Not saying we should sell Jelavic like, but we shouldn't be writing Vellios off.

Agreed mate, he impressed me quite a bit last season and if he can keep improving his work rate and stay injury free, I don't see why he can't become the player we all hoped he would be when he first came onto the scene.

As for Vellios, I really haven't seen enough of the lad to make a sound judgement on him. Took his goals well but other than that, I can't remember anything of note. Perhaps see a bit more of him this season.

Dont think you can contest it mate. Anichebe and Naismith both have achieved far more as footballers than Vellios who scored three goals but looked incredibly limited when he got starts so was subsequently sent back to the reserves to develop.

Naismith and Anichebe are both internationals too for their sins.

This.

I hate it when people say that players are better than others when they have seen them play about 11 minutes of football. There is a reason he isnt bossing a first team place... Because he obviously isnt good enough. I hope he does develop but who knows.
