Trevor Steven (over Kanchelskis) - more versatile.
Wayne Rooney - him in the hole behind Jelavic = goals, goals, goals

The game has changed too much in the last 80 years to pick Dixie Dean I reckon. For the modern game, and looking at who we have on the pitch now, I would go for Beardsley, Rooney and Reid.
